If you look at the last 10 games column in the standings, what really jumps out at you is that almost all of the teams--26 out of the 30--are in the 4-6 to 6-4 range. The only sigificant runs have come from the Yankees and the Indians, each of whom is 8-2 over the last ten.
2. If there is a 3 way tie..say Yankees, Red Sox and Indians all finish with the same record...Yankees and Sawx first play a game..in NY..winner is the division chasmp..the loser plays the Indians the next day...at the Jake..for the WC..
However, now here's my question..let's say 4 teams...White Sox and Indians, Yankees and Redsox, all finish witht he same record...it's NOT outside the realm of possibility...maybe a 1 in 30 chance...then what happens?..I assume that Yankees play Red Sox, Tribe plays White Sox..winners are the divisional champs..and the two loser then play for the WC..
BTW..good chance we might have a playoff in the AL WEST..
FYI..update on the playoff scenarios in the AL...
1. If two teams, say the Yankees and Red Sox, are tied for the division lead, AND BOTH TEAMS WOULD MAKE THE PLAYOFFS then they uses the head to head record to determine who is the divison champ..right now Yankees lead 9-7
