Just wanted to share with some of you something that happened early this month. This requires some background. I have no liscense (Not a drunk, I just drive like aan idiot) and I get a ride 35 miles each way to work and back, 75% of the time by a married couple who have been friends of mine for several years. We were friends before they morphed into Michael Moore's stepchildren. The husband is more muted, certainly with the same belief structure but not as radical. The wife thinks it was wrong to attack Iraq...AND Afghanistan. The falling debris from the world towers should have been transformed into a shower of taxpayer funded aid missions. When we wander into politics I have to bite my tongue and keep the temperature down in the car or I may lose my friend and my job. There is no public transportation outside Raleigh, unless you count $130 a day in cab fare. Driving home one night with the two of them she starts telling me about her ethics class where she learned "moral isolationism" which says that nobody from our culture can say that anything is right or wrong about any other culture, because what they do is right in their way. We have not lived in that culture so we cannot judge, by any means, others to be wrong in any way. I shut up and ignored it as I knew it would be a long, irritating drive home if I did anything else. We got to my house and I flipped ibn the T.V. it was the anniversary of the Beslan School Massacre. I left it on for nearly a full hour until it was over. In detail the takeover, rigging of bombs to women, random killings et al. All told by the schoolchildren. One child somewhat calmy described his father's head being blown apart by a machine gun round after the terrorists blew the gymnasium apart without provocation. He remembers hoping that the terminator would come and save them. 40 odd minutes of that in excrusiating detail was truely horrifying to and human with a sense of right and wrong. When the credits rolled, I changed the channel and said, very calmly and soothingly,"Not that they did anything wrong there. They were right in their own way." .................................................................................................................. SILENCE FROM A LIBERAL
Since laws are nothing but codified morality that a society {kinda} agrees upon ...
... "moral isolationism" is nothing but anarchy with a blindfold.
And I bet they still didn't change their minds. Or, they sat there the whole time thinking those children were the ones tortured and attacked by President Bush. "WOE, The Bush!"
Do you mean liberal-ated? I think you already were.
Remember the hoax regarding SB 040194? Drunk driving on the information highway to be made illegal?
Generated a lot of nasty calls to the swimmer's office /ha ha
SB 040194 (April 1, 1994)
Learn to drive straight and haul your own a$$ to work. These "friends" of yours will drive you insane.
ROTFLOL. I've had a similar (although much less deadly) experience with camel crickets.
Hahaha! Goody, a continuation of the Friday Silliness thread! :-)
Okay, that one was funny.
Nice! we will need some green leafy things after the funeral.
stop it, you're killing me...LOL
A little boy went up to his father and asked: "Dad, where did all of my intelligence come from?"
The father replied. "Well son, you must have got it from your mother, cause I still have mine"
It's always...ALWAYS...the spelling with these turkeys.
Well...it IS available on iTunes.
They sound sort of like Rush if you are a Rush fan. Not Rush Limbaugh but the Canadian Rock Group Rush. The ones who were supposedly influenced by Ayn Rand.
It's a pretty good album and probably one you should play in the car with your liberal car pool friends.
I especially like the tracks "Mercury In Retrograde", "The Same Path" and "Weatherman." THey also do a fairly decent version of "Sounds Of Silence".
I went for a walk in the rain tonight. It was unusually warm for this time of year. Tropical storm in the area and all. I listed to this album on headphones through my iPod. Not the new sleek "nano" iPod but the heavy-as-a-brick 40Gig iPod.
Giant cat ahead...LOL
I don't know why, but that struck me as funny as heck.
The zot thing is stupid. Honest to God, it really is.
GREAT PUZZLE!! Are there more? My son wants to do some like this.
