As Antaresquity points out, the top and bottom halves of the note feature totally different handwriting styles, with the bottom half corresponding to Bush's established style. If this note has only been enhanced, the top half--the part the media is focusing on--was written by someone else, unless we're to believe Bush just totally changed his handwriting back to his typical style midway through. Maybe he was so cramped up during the first half that his writing style was changed. /sarc

"Once he saw what it said, Hershorn decided the note was interesting and worth publishing. The white parts of the picture were overexposed, so a Reuters processor used Photoshop to burn down the note. This is a standard practice for news photos, Hershorn says, and the picture was not manipulated in any other way."
I am appalled at the media frenzy..They sound like first graders..

BS. I work with PhotoShop every day. If the image were overexposed, there would be no benefit to "burning" it, which would only blow it out more, causing a greater loss of image quality.

Cancel all newspaper subscriptions because of something a FOREIGN news source did? This course of action makes sense to you?

Of course it's fake. A Regular-Joe like Pres. Bush would have written, "I gotta whiz."

Everybody knows Bush only writes with a Sharpie.
You mean like in this picture ??

US President George W. Bush (L) raises his hand to vote as US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice (R) and US Ambassador to the UN John Bolton (L) look on during the 2005 World Summit, at the 60th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York. Bush said that more needed to be done to make the United Nations 'free of corruption' and appealed for stronger global cooperation to fight terrorism and disease.(AFP/Jim Watson) Email Photo Print Photo

From my HS days in the darkroom, I know that as it relates to developing pictures, burning means overexposing (as opposed to dodging). What does it mean in the context of Photoshop?

Gee, a world leader needed a bathroom break and wanted to do it in a way that didn't disrupt the meeting. And that's headlines, breaking news stuff. *eyeroll* Meanwhile, the same press danced all around Clinton's dalliances with Monica and the many missing FBI files and other documents. Don't even bring Chappaquiddick up around them. Yep, I can surely see how the potty break was pressing, crucial news.

Come to think of it, Al Gore always looked like he hadn't had a bodily function in months.. LOL! So true.
To: Howlin
Plus compare the "I" in the phrase "Iraq time" at the end of Condi's note with the "I" in the bathroom note.
Clearly, Condi wrote a note to Bush asking if she could go and Bush was writing a response when the photo was taken. Not that it makes a hellofalot of difference either way. It is still incredible that the MSM thinks this is newsworthy.

"It's all part of the "Bush is a little boy who has to ask permission to go potty" image they have tried to sell throughout his presidency."
WE HAVE A WINNER!!!!!!
Same agenda with the: (1) can't-show-9/11 people jumping to their deaths but (2) CAN show bloated dead bodies from Katrina-related flooding.
It's really transparent.
