What are the best and worst John Wayne movies?

Best: The Searchers Worst: Riders of Destiny (In this 1933 film Wayne stars as Singin' Sandy Saunders, who also happens to be a government agent. The singing is dubbes, and the lipsync is terrible.)

What are the best and worst Humphrey Bogart movies?

Best: The Caine Mutiny Worst: The Return of Doctor X (Bogie plays a zombie of sorts)

I'm not a fan of Wayne, but I think the worst fit for him was that movie set in present day (for the time -- about 1970ish) with lots of car chases. My favorite is "The Quiet Man".

Bogart -- the best -- Casablanca or Caine Mutiny, haven't seen Doctor X, so I'll take your word for it.

Favorite John Wayne movie(s)? That's a toughie,I enjoy every one I've seen. Lately its: The Silent Man and She Wore a Yellow Ribbon and McQ.
Least favorite? I haven't seen Riders of Destiny but from the description that would probably be it.

My favorite scene in True Grit is at the end when he is getting ready to charge the bad guys and he yells, "Fill yer hands you sonsabitches!"

The Duke:

The Best is True Grit
The worse are any of his black and white films and it looks like his wearing make up.

Bogy:
Haven't seen enough to know.

The worst Duke movie was the one where he was Genghis Khan. You just can't make Rooster Cogburn look Asian.

Loved that! Also, his drunk scenes were good, too - shooting at the rat and looking for a place to camp.

"What are you looking for?"
"Sign"
"You couldn't see it if you saw it!"

There is one scene at the end where he comes to the door and looks in on the guys trying to help Maddie after the snake bite. He leans up against the door and his hat is down over his face - you may remember that. Several years ago I saw that exact picute in a momento type store and didnt buy it - I am kicking myself now. I have looked all over the internet and have never found that picture anywhere.

Not some mongolian war lord, THE mongolian war lord, Big G Khan himself. And it takes the tale end over Jet Pilot, as Wayne never convinced anyone he was a mongolian war lord.

My Son is only 11mths old, but when he is old enough to understand television (and with the wife's permission because she has no intention of letting the little guy watch any t.v.) we're going to watch that movie. Outstanding flick!

Best Duke: True Grit & (too a lesser degree) Rooster Cogburn. I also enjoy El Dorado.
Worst Least liked Duke: McQ - seemed like a Dirty Harry knockoff.

Bogart: I like The African Queen.

Best John Wayne movie: The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance

Best Bogey: Treasure of the Sierra Madre. Would have been the Caine Mutiny if they hadn't screwed up the ending.

"Nothing's too good for the man who shot Liberty Valance."

"Hey mister, can you stake a fellow American to a meal?"

I can't remember the name, but one of my favorite Bogart movies was the one where he plays a man wrongly convicted of murdering his wife; he escapes from prison and has plastic surgery, then sets out to screw over the woman responsible...Sort of The Fugitive meets The Count of Monte Christo...Anyone know what it was called?

My least favorite was The Jade Falcon
