We will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail!
Good morning!!
Do not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor the brave members of our Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our freedom, die in vain!!
Louisiana is preparing for an epic legal struggle as tens of thousands of homeowners there will soon discover their insurance policies won't cover rebuilding as floods are not covered. Moreover, Federal flood insurance only covers losses up to $250,000.
Otherwise, recovery from KATRINA continues.
For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.
Say What??
She has TWO wonderful sisters and No Brothers.
So how can she had THREE brothers' in law and a sister in law?
*scratching head* Totally puzzled.
Hee, hee, hee. Maybe it's a typo or she's counting her husband as one of the BIL's. Oh, well. Good catch!
We use a phone clock-in system for our employees. The company that manages it is in MS and lost power the morning that Katrina hit. We have about 55 employees and they each call in and out of each job ... and several of them are 'rovers' and work in several buildings each day. That's well over a hundred phone calls that we (mostly me) had to deal with each day of that week ... and manually record and then transfer to my accounting software ... before we got switched to another system.
And in the middle of that, we were in the process of switching back to our regular phone company for both telephone and DSL service after trying unsuccessfully to change to another, cheaper company. I will NEVER do that again. We spent hours and hours over several weeks dealing with the problems the new company said we wouldn't have. It's still not all straightened out. The really bad thing is that our email is affected and many of our customers use email to communicate needs and concerns to us.
And all that was happening the week that we had invoices and payroll to do ... and payroll had to be done in just 2 days instead of the normal 5 because of the Labor Day holiday.
And we had something like 6 employees quit that week and 2 more give notice. We also hired 5 new ones which involves a lot of training.
And something is wrong with my computer at the office and I can't figure out what. Think we're going to have to call in someone who knows what they are doing to straighten it out. My assistant, who excells at some things, is totally clueless about computers, except as fancy typewriters. She told me one day that before I got there a message popped up saying that I needed to uninstall and re-install something but she had no idea what. *sigh*
And then there have been the problems that daughter-child is dealing with and have us quite concerned. Things look ever so slightly better on that front but are quite tenuous.
And that was just one week ... while we were trying to handle the normal details of running a business.
Last week was only slightly better. But hubby and I keep reminding ourselves that at least our business is not under water or blown away, we have a roof over our heads, and a bed that we occasionally find a little time to rest in. I'm very concerned about the toll this is taking on hubby ... it's all put him under an extraordinary amount of stress.
And now I'm keeping a close eye on Ophelia who, at last report, is making a bee-line for my brother's house. He's come through much worse hurricances so we feel ok about this one. Still can't help but be distracted somewhat by that, though.
I'll bet you're sorry you asked ... LOL!
Hope you're feeling better.
lysie ~~~ it may take your m-i-l a while to start feeling the effects of losing her friend. I would keep a close eye on her for signs that she's brooding about the loss for quite some time. *hugs*
Maybe her hubby has a brother and a sister who are married. ???
And where does the sister in law fit in?
Do you think it's a typo, too?
Oh my goodness kay. What a load you're carrying. Be strong.
I haven't a clue. Maybe one of her sisters is a Mormon with 2 husbands?!? :)
See my #124
Better luck tomorrow, I hope.:(
Because you're a friend I'm going to let that slide by.
But only this once.
;^)
Oh, WOW, your plate doth overflow. You're up to it though, or you wouldn't be in business. I'll put you and Mr. kayak on my prayer list.
Y'all are officially invited to the pity party ... *grins*
I have searched the far reaches of my memory. I absolutely cannot recall a single Democrat male that I have ever considered sexually attractive.
Nor have I found any female democrat [remotely] [redacted] [attractive]. Period. But I remember Traf's rants and they always were good for a grin. He was dirty, but he still kinda had it right, more or less...
Every Democrat male I know has a little bit of Imus in them.
How are you feeling?
I'm watching for signs, kay...so far no emotion. G took her to the funeral and he was amazed at how calm she was.
I'm feeling much better, thank you. I think my immunity system got the best of that bug. ;-)
Prayers for all in need.
