IL-2 is a good WWII air combat sim, probably the best there is at this point. The key in getting it to work for me was editing the config settings for the joystick. The default settings were just too "twitchy".
http://www.airwarfare.com/tech/sticks.htm has a great summary of stick set up for IL-2.
I only dabble in the game, not being very good at it. Starting out, it is best to set most of the realism settings pretty low, and you can enjoy the game even if you never change them to a higher level.
Also, even though the sim is a bit long in the tooth by computer game standards, with all the graphics options set to the max you need a decent CPU and graphics card to avoid getting a slide show.
I have all the products you mentioned. It can be a blast to play, and I prefer it to the MS series of flight sims, even though those are fine, too.
What I am really hoping for in the computer gaming sphere is a modern update of the "Red Baron" WWI flight sim. To me those early birds have a romance all their own.

Down on the entry next to my name, it's in the parentheses after "City of Heroes."

My question was: Do you use the Xen Shadowhawk alias in another game like Diablo?

Nope - Shadowhawk used to be my CoH nickname, but I changed it to make it easier for FReepers to find me.

Checking in. Been way too hectic with hurricanes and gas problems 9/11 etc. Hope to see you all this week sometime. Oh and please don't let Ophelia hit Topsail Island. But, that is where it is headed. :(

The first game in the series, IL-2, is all you need to see if you like it. Aces is an IL-2 expansion, and Pacific fighters is a stand alone, or you can "stack" it on top of your IL-2 install.

Atlanta, with gulf coast relatives in Destin, FL and $3.50 gas (I take premium) and evacuees everywhere.
Things are back to normal somewhat now.

Put me down for WoW, Mannoroth and Scarlet Dawn. If there was a FReeper guild that would rock. I haven't had time to play in several months, grew tired of my guild, and its kind of hard to drag myself back in when I have to solo everything (which is big PITA in WoW, if that's all you can do).

10 other freepers in WoW... you make 11. I am not sure what they are doing on organizing... maybe you could get it started... That's what this thread is for.
Mannoroth and Scarlet Dawn.... I havn't heard of those games. Are they games? or do they have something to do with WoW?
