Blame it on Bush

With Katrina aimed at ol' Louisiann,
everyone was warned by the weather man,
that New Orleans had a date with fate,
so evacuate to way up state.

Mayor Nagin dallied, only he knows why,
let him explain why he let folks die.
With buses galore, to evacuate his town,
he chose instead to just let them drown.

He shunned school buses-not good enough-
no air, no toilet, no soft seats and other stuff.
So he ranted and raved, demanding Grayhound fleets,
even as waters were flooding the streets.

Governor Blanco too, just sat on her hands,
without a clue about evacuation plans,
nor giving a damn, from her actions it seems,
about the folks dying, down in New Orleans.

With state Dems clowning like Mutt and Jeff,
the MSM and the DC Dems, saw only one course left,
to rescue their two asses, up to their navels in slush.
Blame it on Bush.

In my mind as I wrote it I was kind of feeling the cadence of the verses in Jimmy Deans, "Big bad John".

My wife's chilli is delicious. As a meatless recipe it is great, but with some ground sirloin it is remarkable.
