Everyone (well...me) often wonders what other Freepers look like. So here is a short list of Freepers I have corresponded with and who they look like in my minds eye. Feel free to add your own! Have fun and have a great weekend! ;-)
Pissant/Dashing Dasher - Because of you're chemistry you're Bruce Willis and Cybil Shephard from Moonlighting.
Najida - You're Barbara Eden as genie, but when she plays her brunette sister.
PaulaB - you're Priscilla Barnes from 3's Company. Just because your initials are the same. :-)
Mike Bates - you're Brian Keith from Family Affair
BigB - you're Tattoo from Fantasy Island (just kidding!) You're the lead character from Coach (can't think of his name, Craig something??)
JerseyBikerRepublicanChick - you're Michelle Pfeifer from Grease II
I'm just an imaginary engineer (bsie) with an mba. And my 10 years just passed. Congratulations to you! The only reason to become a civie is to pass the eit exams. Those questions are so slanted to government and lawyer work, it's pitiful. My BIL (ms civie) was found dead on a job site, LOL! The journalists thought they had a huge scoop when they found a 'dead body', legs sticking out of a hole, he was just checking something out!
Sorry for the loss of your BIL> I'm glad you have a sense of humor about it. Hey, a civil degree makes the math part of the GRE a piece of cake. I scored nearly perfect on that part.
However, I was 29 at graduation, married with 2 kids, so a masters wasn't in my stars.
HAH! I was a single mom of 3, 36, when I graduated!
Civies are the greatest, way nicer than EE's. (I married an EE.) And way less arorgant than the me's.
Good on ya! Did you do it in 4 years? Graduate, I mean.
4 years of study groups that go until 3 am will do that to you.
Nah, 5 years. I had to start with algebra for idiots.
I'd put my kids to bed at 8, and I'd sleep until 1-2 am, then get up and study til the morning. I'll tell you, I don't know how I did it, but I did. Graduation was on mother's day, it was one of the best moments of my life.
Ma'am, my picture is on my profile. LOL
I worked as a night shift janitor at the school 11pm to 7 am. Got free tuition out of it. I never slept. Finished in 4 years. I did summer school to make up the 1 match class i was behind.
It was damn hard going back to school after 7 years, but i had prep school for a foundation and a former job for a septic tank company to motivate me not to fail.
Wow! did you ever meet anyone who had to sacrifice like you? Well, here I am. I worked 40 hours a week as a waitress, raised 3 kids as a single mom and graduated in 5 years. I get really ticked off when I hear women say, they have no options - bull s***. I used the system as it was designed. Amazing, hey???? I'm not extremely intelligent, but I'll tell you what, if I can get an engineering degree, anyone can. It was 80% determination, 20% learning. It was harder moviting myself than the actual studying. I get really ticked off when I hear how opressed women are. Hell, I was one of those women left by her man. I did it with 3 kids. I didn't give into to the 'easy' life of welfare. And I'll tell you, it's my most proudest accomplishment, graduating on Mother's day and all, with a REAL engineering degree. I don't need to tell you how thrilling that day was!
It was 80% determination, 20% learning.Sounds just about right.
Your family is beautiful!
Thank you. They are for sale. :)
No way, my oldest just got married, my middle is in Iraq, and my youngest decided being 19 is way better than mooching off the mom. LOL! And you have 4 daughters, I only have 3. Poor guy!
Well, the beer and peanuts helped!
