I had help from my parents and brothers with babysitting, thank God! But, mostly, it was a 'lived' in house. We ate, we had clean clothes, our house wasn't exactly a pig sty, but, it was messy most of the time. Hey, something had to give. It was either a clean house, farm out the kids or welfare....... I guess the messy house won that battle. It wasn't a disaster. Well, grandma might disagree......
