They should have added:

11. People care what Bono has to say about world affairs (FALSE)

They also missed the best reason that people say Morrison faked his death: he said he was going to.

Plus, there is the "Niki Sixx died and was replaced by another guy" rumor that even went to court.

The #1 myth is that Elvis is still alive. Why isn't that on the list? I might be out of touch, but is the Kurt Cobain murder myth really the #1?

Robert Johnson was the Paganini of blues musicians. It wouldn't at all surprise me to find out he sold his soul to get that ability. That man was magical.

Isn't there a story that involves Led Zeppelin, a groupie, and a fish? That one should be on the list.

Number 6 - David Bowie and Mick Jagger were caught in bed together (true) Having your wife catch you in bed with another woman is simply one of the occupational hazards of being a rock star. But David Bowie was really put on the spot after his ex-wife told national television audiences that she once found her admittedly bisexual "Thin White Duke" spooning naked in bed with the Rolling Stones' frontman Mick Jagger. Both men and their lawyers denied any gay implications.

Isn't this what the song "Angie" is about?

[Mama Cass a]lmost 240 pounds when she died...

Actually I swear that Cass was much heavier than even that in some points of her (too short) career. I know she wasn't tall but I have seen pics of her where she seems 50lbs heavier than that.

One of my favorite female vocalists, by the way, of the 20th Century.

Re: #6 - this is the first time I've heard 'naked' attached to the story. As I recall, Angie Bowie was deliberately vague about these two being 'in bed' together, then later recanted the statement in her book.

11. Somebody was murdered during the recording of The Ohio Players song "Rollercoaster," and you can hear them scream during the song.

12. Carly Simon wrote "You're So Vain" about a) Warren Beatty or b) Mick Jagger.

When I was in Jr. High I did a 20 page paper on the Paul is Dead Myth. There are actually backwards recordings on some of the Beatles songs dating between Penny lane and Revolution #9. I'm not saying I buy into the myth but it was fueled by what was at the time a revolutionary concept of using backwards recorded track as sound effects, and some fan hysteria.
I had a friend at the time whose turntable actually ran backwards so I recorded Revolution #9 and all the allegeg 'Clue' songs and there were actual words. Nothing spectacular.
And if you have an original 1967 Mono copy of Sgt. Pepper, or UK Stereo copy, when the needle runs into the runout groove there is an endless loop of what sounds like "I Don't Know 'Bout Lucy Abbot" It's really hard to tell exactly, but it is well known among Beatle collectors. As a pedigree I have over 2000 Beatle related recordings.

2 More Beatle myths:
When this gum card came out (Series 1 #44) There was quite a todo because all the girls were convinced that John had lost a finger

When The following card was released (Series 2 #102) People weren't to savvy with touching up photos.
All the girls thought the Beatles got crew cuts

I was always a fan of the Mick, Keith, Marianne Faithfull and a Mars bar myth.

Speaking of rock bands though, I always loved it when Joe Perry and Steven Tyler were giving the speech inducting Led Zeppelin into the HOF Joe said, "Everything you ever heard about Led Zeppelin is true. Mad, bad and dangerous to know." I immediately thought sweet because I have heard some awesome Rock and Roll stories about them.
