AMERICA - The Right Way!! (Day 1691) [Remember the Trade Center!!]
Various News Sources and FReepers | September 7, 2005 | All of Us

Posted on 09/07/2005 4:44:27 AM PDT by Chairman_December_19th_Society

We will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail!

Good morning!!

Do not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor the brave members of our Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our freedom, die in vain!!

Four people have died as a result of norovirus, an easily spread cause of diarheea and vomiting, caused by infection associated with contact with the contaminated flood waters of New Orleans.

The EPA is testing what, exactly, is in the flood waters, and preliminary results will be available by weeks end.

It is known now, however, that e. coli is present in the water at 450,000 times safe levels.

NOPD officials say there are about 10,000 residents remaining in New Orleans, and those will be removed by force, if necessary.

A makeshift jail has been made at the New Orleans bus station--the first inmate was an individual who drove up to get a bus ticket out of town in a car he had stolen.

Eko-wackos are on their ever vigilant nannyism--scientists are warning about the long-term damage to the ecosystem by pumping New Orleans flood waters back into Lake Ponchatrain (like, where do they want it pumped?)

And the pumping? Three pumping stations are online, of the city's 148 pumps, and each is moving 4,600 cubic feet per second. This is somewhat better than a portable pump the Army Corps of Engineers had been using, which moved 9 cubic feet per second.

Flood waters should be removed in 3 1/2 weeks from eastern New Orleans, and in 2 1/2 months from Chalmette.

The good news is that 182,000 people have been rescued.

For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.

Thank you, prairie. Are gas prices going down in your area because they are going down in the southeast.

I see pork on the political table, how about you?

May have been good enough to house thousands at the start, but because of the poor (nonexistant?) planning on the part of New Orleans and Louisiana, those thousands destroyed it.

FOX and Friends were just now stating, can you imagine what would have happened during 9-11 if NYC's first responders didn't show up, or just took off????

This may be one of those cases, where to renovate, and redo is costlier than just tearing down and starting over.

Good morning all, and thank you Chairman

It was shocking enough that a lot of those policemen just took off. But to give them vacation at this time? And to say that they aren't going to be prosecuted (or probably even reprimanded) for going to Houston? Shocking indeed and we're lucky the NYC cops behaved more honorably.

I haven't bought gas lately but I don't think there's been much decrease in the heartland yet. Maybe it is slower getting here...??

You are right...we renovated one house and built one from scratch....much easier from scratch, imo. Longer process maybe, but much easier.

The National Guard can perform law inforcement duties, though, right?

FNC just read an e-mail from General Honoree. He said the military is in NO for a purely relief function and does not participate in law enforcement (thanks to the lackluster Governor).

You have got to be kidding..

No joke. It was a great memo. But I should be clear, the comment about the lackluster Governor was mine, not Honorees.

But he really put the wood to the New Orleans police, imo, and indirectly to the mayor and Governor by making it clear that the military can't participate in law enforcement or forcing people to leave their homes. That is up to the New Orleans cops, he said.

That's going to be nearly impossible given so many cops have left town -- they can't possibly get 10,000+ people out of their homes by force AND provide law enforcement.

That Governor is going to rue the day she didn't comply with the president's wishes.

Good Morning. I think I've established a bad habit.... getting up mid morning. I will probably loose my Dawn Patrol credentials.

kassie, thanks for replying to my question about the availability of gasoline on your trip to KS. I was just curious.

Peach, thanks for posting the article verifying the Friday thing. I was so sure it was the Friday BEFORE the storm, then when others said it was Last Friday, I thought, "Well, maybe so". Glad to have that question resolved.

And get this...hundreds of police have walked off the job for whatever reason...and the Mayor decided to send the rest to Las Vegas...poor things are stressed.

Now the Mayor is demanding the military take over police work.

The Mayor needs to call Governor Blanco.
