Watching the news on Hurrican Katrina, I've seen a few people who refused to leave their dogs because they could not bring them along to a people shelter. I thought about it and asked my husband if he would leave our two cats to fend for themselves. My husband thought about it and said "If we had young children, we would have to go and leave the cats. Well we don't have young children so I would not abandon the cats." I agreed with him. Pets are like members of your family. I simply couldn't walk out the door and leave them. Any comments from other Freepers?
We have eight children, a dog, a cat, and two fish. We would leave the fish. We would not leave our dog and cat to fend for themselves.
Would You Leave Your Pet?
negative!
Yes, my kitties, and all the kitties of the world, have convinced me that I am best served by doing their bidding. : )
Actually, I have a family. All the people in my life, my immediate family, my extended family, friends, etc, are always needing something from me. The majority of my life is spent doing things for other people. Even my dog is a taker.
But my kitties, apart from food, want nothing more than my company and some lovin. They NEVER aggravate me. Ever. They are calm and peaceful, and give me brief serenity in the midst of the chaos that is the daily grind.
I know that is sappy. But for me, it is true.
"and give me brief serenity..."
Serenity Now!!
The Kostanza's coulda used a kitty or two!
Serenity now... schizophrenia later.
I don't think you would want George to be a cat owner. Not a pretty picture, Ell..eeee.ittt. :)
How do you know?
I would NEVER EVER leave them...if 'WE' are at risk of danger---what makes people think they are not? How could people be so cruel and/or stupid? Pets are so dependent on us.
If you had to evacuate for a hurricane and didn't take your pets...you'd put them to sleep???? Christ.
So are dogs. Don't let the "wanting to please" propaganda fool you!
George said he "didn't know" about "guys w/cats". He thinks they're vvrrrr..vvrrrr...vvrrr.
oh
Ditto to someone elses post to you....I hope to God you never get another pet.....
Took 6 months for my 2 cats to work things out.....one even grabbed the otehrs tail and split it down the middle...had to have surgery. But they get along GREAT now....they are both angels.
