This guy is great! What a breath of fresh air...he sure says it like it is and is really giving the press a spanking!
Bush needs to do this...God,do something George..Fight back..General was laying the smackdown
WOO HOOO I heard him! Slamming the media reporting that his rescue workers aren't getting in there! He's great! DUers are blasting him over on the Depressed Underground!
He was part of the a Press conference with Chertoff and it was being shown on Fox News.
He sure got a "Hell yeah!" at our house!! :-)
Love it. No question who is in charge..
YES, Bring it on!!!
FNS - press briefing/mauling.
He's tired of being second-guessed by the press, and having bad information reported.
General Honore is a native of Louisiana. And he certainly told that press guy that his rumor was BS. WTG General. We salute you!
I would love to tell the press they have been full of it for a long time.
ok who the heck you talking about?
From what I have only heard and just now saw, Honore is my new hero. :o)
I really like this guy.
Yep. When this is all over, they need to bring him out once a month or so just to bash the press.
My husband served with him in Korea 5 years or so ago (Honore was the commanding general). He wasn't "under him" per se - different units (DENTAC vs. 2nd infantry). Other than the guy definitely disliking dentists and making their lives difficult, he was, ah.... colorful. Husband is amazed that he can string together a sentence without more than one expletive.
One of the better stories was that he refused to move into the new headquarters building because it was a "no smoking" facility, and the man loves his cigars.
And Chertoff just stepped back and let him rip. Probably smiling inside if not outwardly.
if only the repubs had a few leaders like that!
He is a graduate of the Rumsfeld School of Press Briefing management.
Honore is the man. We will see much more of him. Even Chertoff looked over to him with wide eyes (admiring eyes).
He was pretty good on 60 Minutes last night (sorry...my clicker got snagged for a minute -- just long enough to watch his interview). He wasn't exactly combative, but he also wasn't putting up with any stupid questions from that vapid Scott Pelley.
Notice how HE ended the press conference and Chertoff followed meekly along! LOL!
