Much of Media Enabling Future Failures Like New Orleans Lack of Preparation for a Katrina-Sized Hurricane

When media do not ask the tough questions, they become enablers who allow mediocrity to reign for another day and a future disaster.

Much of media assist Mayor Nagin in trying to make excuses, an example being to blame surrounding New Orleans suburbs for not wanting more refugees than they can handle.

Since much media are pointing blame now and not waiting, I want to know why those media are not asking the tough questions of Mayor Nagin and Governor Blanco. Media should ask these questions:

1. why were sufficient city and school buses not used to get people to the Superdome and the Convention Center?

2. why were there not food supplies ready at such locations? Where was the city planning over the years?

3. did the city do sufficient planning over the years for how to contact residents during pre-storm evacuations? Did the city educate residents over the years about the facts about how much worse flooding would be if the levees were to break?

4. did Governor Blanco and Mayor Nagin mobilize thousands (not hundreds) of Louisiana National Guard BEFORE the storm hit? 7000 Louisiana National Guard were available (not in Iraq) before the storm hit. They could have been there by Sunday, Monday, or Tuesday.

Why did Govt Blanco, depite a complete break down of law Enforcement in NO only FINALLY send in a mere 300, THREE ZERO ZERO Armed NG troops on THURSDAY?

Why was no armed security provided to the NG and FEMA teams that 1st went into NO on Gov Blanco's orders

Consider how woefully understaffed and equipped the City of NO Police are, what did all the Fed Homeland Security money given to the State of Louisiana and the City of NO since Sept 11 to prepare for just such disasters BUY us?

If this is "All Bush's fault" why is the Gov of Louisiana STILL refusing to pass operational control to the FEDs?

How is Bush to blame for what Gov Blanco was, and still IS, in charge of?
