Semi-autos are not really all that jam-prone, if they are fed, maintained and used properly, but revolvers are simple and in a high stress environment, simple is good.
I have a beautiful little .22 Buckmark for plinking. It's fun to shoot but does jam from time to time. I clean it as I understand the instructions to say.
Is there something I should do to make it jam less often? Probably once in 50 rounds.
If you buy or reload reliable, high quality ammunition, jams are almost non-existant with a well-made weapon.
