NO Mayor Nagin rejected the idea of using school busses to evacuate the poor and those without transportation. Now he is demanding that the Federal Government take control of Greyhound and send all the buses down to NO.

Maybe you should have used the ample supply of school busses available on Friday and Saturday.

Even had there been no enviromental brownshirts, the only way to possibly save NOLA from this fate would to have begun a project to dike in the city and Orleans and Jefferson parishes to withstand a Cat 5 storm. That would have taken decades to complete.

The Lousiana political culture, with its emphasis on payoffs and graft, could not grasp the necessity to plan ahead and encourage the kind of investment that could lead to a vibrant business economy, a sound educational system, and state investment in infrastructure.

The people of NOLA have paid the price for decades of graft and corruption going back to Huey Long.
