Have you answered the question of exactly ~where~ an entire city could be evacuated ~to~ that would have been better than the Superdome?

The logistics of what you suggest is really much more complicated than what was done. And I'm not sure it would have been better for the short term.

Pukin, I'm with you 100% on this one. I don't think there is much of a distinction between an able bodied American sitting on his worthless ass sucking from the welfare trough with a straw, and the good for nothing losers whose first thought when a disaster strikes is to loot TV's and jewelry from a Walmart. Frankly, I'd happily trade them one for one with an illegal alien who is willing to work for a living. And I'd damn sure rather pay the medical bills of an illegal alien hurt while working, than those of a welfare rat hurt while dealing dope. When a person's first response to tragedy is to rip off his neighbor, I lose interest in preserving their opportunity to take up space in this country that might be better used by someone else. Legally or not.

Finally someone with the cajones to say the obvious. I always wonder why no one points out to the usual poverty pimps that all of the those "jobs Americans won't do" can't be done by the perpetual victim classes, namely the 4th generation welfare recipient, the homeless, unemployed urban youths, etc. But no, it is to easy to continually point out how exploited they are from "the system".
