CRUISE: I HAVE LIVED BEFORE
DailyRecord.co.uk ^ | 25 August 2005 | Ian Markham-Smith

TOM CRUISE reckons he has lived before and was even more talented and successful in his previous lives.

The eccentric War Of The Worlds star told a press conference that he is "old beyond reckoning".

And despite all his wealth and fame, he believes his current life is "probably one of the least satisfying" he has led.

I'm with you, although I do think that Tom has a screw loose, this looks like a British version of the National Enquirer rag. I'm not going to repeat any of this as fact.

Bingodulla, whom all Scientologists worship as the Supreme Thetan, selected me to spread the gospel of Scientology to the glib, uninformed masses.

As truly nutty as Cruise is, I’m fairly confident that this newspaper made up every quote in this article.

I'm looking for link, but I do believe that this is right out of one of L.Ron's books. I do believe they do have a supreme god-like ruler. And Tom is clearly delusional, especially in regard to all this glory in previous life stuff.

"I was Bob the Ugandan fishermen in my past life... It was worse then this life..... I was eaten by a carnivorous sparrow."

We can't have BOTH been Bob the Ugandan fisherman. I kept the name because of all the happy memories. Except for the being eaten part, of course.

Oh! "old beyond reckoning!" I glanced over this and read it as "odd beyond reckoning." Well, now that's true.

Old beyond reckoning? Is that a sensitive way of saying "has been"?

I think so. I think he's tired of his existence. He's disillusioned, so he's making things up. His cult involvement seems grueling and taxing. The exercising and daily cleansings. He's crying out for help with these behaviors, but he's like he cult's traveling bear-in-a-cage show. Only when he does something really desparate, I don't know what, will someone finally help, I hope.

I was much happier in previous existences when I wrote plays, composed music, conquered nations, discovered continents and developed cures for diseases

Wow, who would have thunk that Shakespeare, Mozart, Alexander the Great, Columbus, and Jonas Salk were all one person?

I do believe we are witnessing the mental crumbling of a man taken over by a rather wacky cult.

The concept of Reincarnation is hardly new, nor cause for deciding someone needs to be in a strait-jacket. Let him bray...

I don't think it's the Reincarnation, per se, that is the issue here. It's the delusions that he must have been someone really important and powerful with each previous existence he's (imagined he's) had, not say as a commoner, and that only he knows, and we couldn't possibly. It's calling Brooke a mistress of Freud. How would he know that? With reincarnation's followers, one is not aware of the previous journeys of others, sometimes not even one's own. The 'priests' of those reincarnation followers may claim to know, but that's where it ends. He's acting delusional.

LOL. I guess there's a fine line between greatness and delusions.

Funny how no one was ever "Igor the manure cart puller"

Everyone was important in a "previous life."

Stupidity thy name is Cruise.

HOW come all these people who claim to have lived before were never pig herders or garbage collectors in their previous lives? They all claim to have been somebody really keen-o!

I think this is what happens when you live most of your life in a place where everyone kisses your ass.

You make a great point. Louis the 14th comes to mind. The emperor is always right. It does create delusions or illusions.

How can one keep a sense of reality when you are told what you want to hear ALL THE TIME, when you are given what you want ALL THE TIME, when you get EVERY WOMAN YOU WANT...it's not the human experience.

So true. And Tom seems to have stepped further away from reality. This time, it's with the cults help. Some people manage this on their own, but the cult is pushing him along. I feel sorry for him, too. They'll cut him loose when he no longer serves their needs, and now he has a fear of psychiatry and medicine. It's hard to imagine a good outcome for him at this point.

Tommy boy (if that's your real name): Pay no attention to your few apologists on Free Republic. You're nuts!
