The concept of Reincarnation is hardly new, nor cause for deciding someone needs to be in a strait-jacket. Let him bray...I don't think it's the Reincarnation, per se, that is the issue here. It's the delusions that he must have been someone really important and powerful with each previous existence he's (imagined he's) had, not say as a commoner, and that only he knows, and we couldn't possibly. It's calling Brooke a mistress of Freud. How would he know that? With reincarnation's followers, one is not aware of the previous journeys of others, sometimes not even one's own. The 'priests' of those reincarnation followers may claim to know, but that's where it ends. He's acting delusional.

Yes, no one ever claims to have been the village idiot, a farmer, or anything like that. It reminds me of that movie "Defending your Life", which had some pretty funny moments:
