~The Dragon Flies' Lair~Thread~XXII
August 28, 2005 | bentfeather/The Poets of the Lair

My Dragon Fly and Me

If I could be a Dragon Fly
and wing my way through the sky
I would never be shy
just me and my Dragon Fly!

By moonlight we ride the wind
chase the comets tail for fun
by day we would hide from the sun
our fragile wings would come undone

On darkest nights we would use
fireflies as our guide
we would dip and we would glide
through the heavens open wide
and scatter diamonds in the night sky
my Dragon Fly and me...

And we would wing past our lovers
silent in the night...
to kiss their face in our flight
much to their surprise and delight
my Dragon Fly and me in sight...

Such a view do we share
away up here in the air
of breezes soft through our hair
my Dragon Fly and me a pair...

fun with words: Liar = Lair

Goshawk = "A large swift hawk with short wings" (Webster's)

I am large but not to swift and the "short wings" is a private matter. LOL

As long as the wing (no matter their size) still see occasion to have use, then everything is just fine.

LOL

Oh, hawk,I thought fish hawks had a wide wing span.

As someone with bentfeathers I can attest
that straight, strong feathers get around best! LOL

Morning, Johnn.

We need a little heat in the Lair today, Missouri is a tad on the cold side. LOL

I've always loved this word: innuendo

Her/I

Her hands are as soft as watered silk,
slipping, gripping softly across my back.

Her breath is warm and hurried now,
pacing our shared moment in perfect tune.

Her nails trace a tingling path along every nerve,
and I return the loving touch in appreciation.

Her teeth nip at my neck, and send shivers up my spine,
lifting me to new heights, from which I lift her yet again.

Her warmth is like a fire, a living forge, tempering me,
striking sparks along every nerve, living fireworks.

Her words are too soft to hear, yet speak of all her needs,
and leave me knowing her even deeper still, what intensity.

Fusion in a moment that makes two complete as one,
expanding insight to fill a universe contained inside two lovers.

Innuendo

It slips off the tongue so roundly,
a play of sounds with which to test,
tones slipping and sliding most fondly.

Implied and not, it carries weight,
and slips so easy into our word play set,
and we see it only after its just too late.

A convoluted joy of sounds woven tight,
and meanings just as mixed at best,
what a marvel, innuendo seen in a better light.

Great poem. The word can be used in many situations but I've always thought of it in a sexual sense. I hope no psychiatrists are listening! LOL

AaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaH yes, the sexual sense, now that would make for quite another sort of poem I think Lady 'feather might not allow here!

;^)

Good word!

I like gossamer, serendipity.

Innuendo, to imply a another meaning to a statement??

bentfeather's interpretation. LOL

I likely teeter near the edge as it is with some of my poems, (but then what excitement would there be in only passing near the edge?)

I was on the edge once, many years ago but I fell in. The good thing is that now, I have two fine lovely daughters. (innuendo?)
