[Soaring Feather]

My Dragon Fly and Me

If I could be a Dragon Fly
and wing my way through the sky
I would never be shy
just me and my Dragon Fly!

By moonlight we ride the wind
chase the comets tail for fun
by day we would hide from the sun
our fragile wings would come undone

On darkest nights we would use
fireflies as our guide
we would dip and we would glide
through the heavens open wide
and scatter diamonds in the night sky
my Dragon Fly and me...

And we would wing past our lovers
silent in the night...
to kiss their face in our flight
much to their surprise and delight
my Dragon Fly and me in sight...

Such a view do we share
away up here in the air
of breezes soft through our hair
my Dragon Fly and me a pair...

in a sweet rapture

ashes in ancient ruins

the flower of love grows strong
fed by sweet passions

a faded summer rose
captured in a bell jar
prisoner of love

life's first taste of love
forbidden, but for dreaming;
never forgotten!

forbidden secret garden
covered in hoar
waiting for serendipity's kiss

shooting stars cascading

twisting and turning hedges
a medieval maze

gazing into your eyes
lost in the labyrinth

Hard Lesson

Tears fall in silent showers
as grief fills a yearning heart.
Sadness does pain impart,
as happiness it does devour.

Dreams fade away, washed by tears,
leaving a hole now so hard to heal.
The soul collects another scar to feel,
in memories you come to aching fear.

Mind whispers remind you life can be unkind,
bittersweet lessons you learn along the way.
And night takes forever to become another day,
for life goes on in spite of the pain you’ll find.

A little older and way too much wiser,
as life sifts through the hourglass of time.
Experience leaves the lesson engraved sublime,
never forgotten and sadly often a cruel advisor.

Still, the promise is there if you dare to try,
to find another chance to change the outcome.
If the heart is strong enough not to succumb,
to become a self-fulfilling failure and hope fly.
