My Dragon Fly and Me
If I could be a Dragon Fly and wing my way through the sky I would never be shy just me and my Dragon Fly!
By moonlight we ride the wind chase the comets tail for fun by day we would hide from the sun our fragile wings would come undone
On darkest nights we would use fireflies as our guide we would dip and we would glide through the heavens open wide and scatter diamonds in the night sky my Dragon Fly and me...
And we would wing past our lovers silent in the night... to kiss their face in our flight much to their surprise and delight my Dragon Fly and me in sight...
Such a view do we share away up here in the air of breezes soft through our hair my Dragon Fly and me a pair...

You blew out the candles
From the depths of your soul
Your new year begins
With this new love your goal.
I could feel the cold breeze
As I shivered in bed
Wrapped against the inclement
Knowing you have now wed.
I find it ironic
From your promises fine
That the candles you blew out
Could be both yours and mine.
My light was extinguished
The night that you left
In the arms of another
You have left me bereft.
I remember your smile
From that time we would share
Oh, to touch and to please you
No treasure I'd spare.
I trust you are happy
With this new love you've found
While the one you betrayed
Is no longer around.
Happy Birthday, my darling
May it's happy return
Be filled with new candles
Which, unlike mine, will burn.

Hello, and thank you for the sweet graphic.
Guess you have been enjoying the reading. *Grins*
I have been off doing errands all afternoon.
To: Colonel_Flagg
Exquisite, dear Colonel. I am crying here.
Very well written. I am so proud of you.
To: bentfeather
Why thank you, my dear. Last night's note to me kicked me directly in my muse. :)

I light my candles every night
dream of you my delight
if again your face
I never see, you'll always
be a part of me.
My dreams are haunted by your presence
I watched you on your wedding day
you turned to me and I heard you say,
but you knew that didn't you, anyway?
In my dreams I saw your bride
on your porch where you two would abide,
an old brick Victorian, ivy covered walls
her long gown sweeping the floor,
and the look toward me, laughing,
he is mine every more.
Ah, so bride it may be, but his heart
has a piece of me, buried deep where you cannot see,
the love he carries there for me.
I hold the treasure of his heart
you hold his hand, and I light the candles
every-night, until forever it shall be..

I'm speechless. Which, as you know, is fairly rare for me. :)
Thank you so much ...

Time for Pancakes has arrived
sakes alive
it's hard to believe
that hump day is a few hours away
of course, I don't care for pancakes
see here, but a plateful of waffles
goes increasingly dear
To: bentfeather; Spotsy

Roses are red,
Violets are blue,
Pancakes are just about here,

One of these days, I'm going to let go of all of my inhibitions and write a real poem for you ladies of verse!

John DonneTHE SUNNE RISING
Busie old foole, unruly Sunne,
Why dost thou thus,
Through windowes, and through curtaines call on us?
Must to thy motions lovers seasons run?
Saucy pedantique wretch, goe chide
Late schoole boyes and sowre prentices,
Goe tell Court-huntsmen that the King will ride,
Call countrey ants to harvest offices;
Love, all alike, no seasons knowes, nor clyme,
Nor houres, dayes, moneths, which are the rags of time.
Thy beames, so reverend, and strong
Why shouldst thou thinke?
I could eclipse and cloud them with a winke?
But that I would not lose her sight so long:
If her eyes have not blinded thine,
Looke, and tomorrow late, tell mee,
Whether both the Indias of spice and Myne
Be where thou leftst them, or lie here with mee.
Aske for those Kings whom thou saw'st yesterday,
And thou shalt heare, All here in one bed lay.
She is all States, and all Princes, I,
Nothing else is.
Princes doe but play us; compared to this,
All honor's mimique; All wealth alchimie.
Thou sunne art halfe as happy as wee,
In that the world's contracted thus;
Thine age askes ease, and since thy duties bee
To warme the world, that's done in warming us.
Shine here to us, and thou art every where;
This bed thy center is, these walls, thy spheare.
