[Soaring Feather]

My Dragon Fly and Me

If I could be a Dragon Fly
and wing my way through the sky
I would never be shy
just me and my Dragon Fly!

By moonlight we ride the wind
chase the comets tail for fun
by day we would hide from the sun
our fragile wings would come undone

On darkest nights we would use
fireflies as our guide
we would dip and we would glide
through the heavens open wide
and scatter diamonds in the night sky
my Dragon Fly and me...

And we would wing past our lovers
silent in the night...
to kiss their face in our flight
much to their surprise and delight
my Dragon Fly and me in sight...

Such a view do we share
away up here in the air
of breezes soft through our hair
my Dragon Fly and me a pair...

It's Tuesday evening we knew it would come
where's Spotsy, and pancakes, late again?

Oh, waffles and pancakes dripping in syrup
slathered in butter, plate lined up with sausage,
fried crisp bacon, I can't believe it nearing
Wednesday again.

Spotsy, oh Spotsy, how's the batter
lumpy, or running thin it does not matter.

Heat up that griddle, start flipping the spatula
appetites are raving, the poets are caving
from writing Pancakes poems on Tuesday evening.

Here's our spotsy
right on schedule
bringing pancakes
she's no fool.

Fills our tummys
soothes our bellyaches
don't forget the gummy
stuff, Miss Spotsy.

We love's our syrup!!!

Mix a pancake,
Stir a pancake,
Pop it in the pan;
Fry the pancake,
Toss the pancake,
Catch Spotsy if you can!

Pancakes, pancakes, a light delight
hold the syrup, flip the griddle
waffles are my breakfast food.

I like dripping waffles too,
Spotsy serves them with yummy syrup,
so, don't forget to wipe the drool.

Marching, Hooray! A downpour
of syrup would make the day
Sliced peaches, blue blueberries
Strawberries ripe await

To be flattened: their fate,
Stacked and surrendered
To forks, spoons, knives and
Happy canteeners with
Coffee provided, juice or whatever
You like. It's here to delight.
