New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, |

Still round the corner there may wait |

Home is behind, the world ahead, |
Takes up space that could be occupied by a more useful appliance, like a food processor! ;o)
LOL! Now there's something I never would have considered!
I'd never heard it, Bear. It was a good one! Kind of like the one "If the Foo sh*ts, wear it."
I'll get cash today...then I should be set. The power going out is my biggest concern.
Last night, even here in Tulsa, the Walmart bottled water was nearly gone. They only had some on the top shelf and some fellow crawled up and started handing it down.
'Morning!
Looks like it's gridlock headed out of Houston today. The local TV station had their weather dweeb standing on the beach in Galveston this morning.
I always kept plastic gallon jugs around to be filled in case of hurricanes.
The idea about the flash drive is a great one. It occured to me yesterday that many of our family pictures are on my computer's hard drive. I guess we could grab the hard drives and take them with us in case of an emergency, but having stuff like that on a flash drive or two, updated as necessary, makes much more sense.
Good morning XGI!
Happy birthday Bilbo and Frodo!
I've collected the plastic jugs/containers that our kitty litter comes in for non-potable, household water storage. Works well. They're a good size and have a handle. Water for drinking is important - but so is water for flushing!
Can I call in dead?
Nnnnngh. They really don't want me there, I'm sure... but I might feel worse tomorrow. And I shouldn't have to be close enough to anyone to share germs.
I think it's some kind of wren... I don't know my little birdies. :~D
Good morning everyone!
~sip~
Heh, thanks. I can manage I think if it doesn't get worse than this. I really can't handle a two-week bout like last semester, that just hurt my grades too much.
Hmmm....looks like they've shifted the forecast track east.
Joshua's teacher was having him listen for "g" sound in words...one of the words she used was "rag". Joshua turned to me and said "Liberal Rag!"
You're indoctinating those poor children, they need to be sent to a government-run reeducation center stat!
He he he!
I'm rearranging my priorities... I'll sit through class (it's small so I won't infect anyone) and then make arrangements to do the few other things that need to be done today quickly. I'm feeling worse and worse as the day goes on.
I sure hope you get to feelin' better!
I called my doctor yesterday to get some free samples of this nose spray that helps with my allergies. Nurse called me this morning saying "He just GAVE you some samples last week!" I said "He just gave me one and told me to call if it worked and I could get some more." Nurse says "It's already gone???"
I started feeling like I was asking for a dose of morphine or something! It's a dang antihistamine nasal spray and she was grilling me like I was abusing it! It lasted a week and I didn't even use it as often as I was told to!
Then she says "He's gone, he'll be back next week...I'll ask him then."
I'm feeling very indignant about the hole thing...
I generally dislike nurses. There are good ones but a lot of them are control freaks.
