Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Sand and Stone and Pool and Dell...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

We'll have to see how the money falls... I really would like to make it there for one day anyway. Haven't been to a con in too many years. I can't remember the last con we went to. It's something I'd like to get back into.

(She also had trouble with her broccoli tubes on occasion...)Apparently my Granny was always hard of hearing. She used to listen to a radio show called "Portia Faces Life". She once said that was a funny name for a program, "Wash Your Face At Night".

You might better stay away from those AnimeCons for a while. They sound kinda dangerous! ;o)

Heh. Well, I expect I have a year to recover. Anyway it's the mental scarring that's the worst - saw some things that no one should have to see!

Were there any middle-aged men dressed as Sailor Moon?Heh, we saw some guys like that at AnimeBoston. Some VEY strange looking folks, but apparently very well behaved, according the the concierge at the hotel where it was held. He said the S&M convention the previous week was kinda wild. ;o)

I don't think costumes that are made by gluing stuff to your underwear, no matter how accurate they are, are really appropriate. In this photo, I am wearing a bra covered with gold fabric. (A swimsuit didn't offer enough support)

Of course, the most offensive part of that costume is actually the hat. ;~D

The bra was not the piece of underwear I was offended by having to see on multiple people.
You're wearing about six times as much as the ones who made me suffer trauma. Although it is, er, a rather frightening costume.

Isn't it? It was a borrowed costume.... Of all the choices, I don't know why one chooses orange and green. And the hat... ack.

And the poor horse! Looks like something out of a sixties version of Arabian Nights.

That's about what it was... a sixties era Arabian Native Costume, taken in about 1982.
