Most interesting, the deal was done through confidential(!!) memoranda between the governors of those states.
It amazes me how completely powerful our governments are. Local, state and federal - it's as if all the laws protecting us from them and limiting their authority have been erased. There is no end to the tyranny. The take over is complete and we are simply here to serve the interests of the government. We have no recourse through the courts (Kelo, as the best and most recent example).
It breaks my heart.

Silly me. I wasn't aware that Governors could MAKE law. It's called Executive Order. An Executive Order in in effect until it is struck down Legislatively or a Governor (President) cancels it.
We had this happen in Iowa this summer. Governor Tom Vilsack gave a blanket order to restore all felon's voting rights.
Previously, felon's voting rights were only restored on an individual basis via an appeal process to the Governor. Scuttlebutt has it that the DNC wanted those rights restored in order to move Iowa out of the Red State column during the next election. It's possible it will work.

Even with nonsense, they're still better than all the rest.

I'm wondering why the Feds haven't jumped in. Interstate Commerce clause clearly applies!

GOOD A.M. TO THE HONORABLE CHAIR, ALL, FROM THE MISSISSIPPI GULD COAST, USA!!!!
OK Chair, get you weather map out and keep us advised of where that storm is going to go, please.
I see the Pat Robinson gave one of his Sr. Citizen moments commits on the 700 club but, he is right as far as I am concerned, that guy down there is nothing but trouble for all the America's. When you are in the limelight you just don't say things like that cause you know they are going to pound on your head for saying so. course they don't say anything when it comes to W and the comment made about him do they.
Wish you could see the sunrise here this morning, breathtaking. Even ole Bill likes it, he is crowing up a storm. I am proud of that ole boy but sometimes he over does it.
Got me ANOTHER Dr.'s appointment today, D will get me to one if I sneeze gotta get this right leg checked, again, and some scope work as well, sheesh. Hope we can go to WalMart afterward as I do need to get some things like a pair of new sheets (like they are going to sell used ones).
As soon as it dries up a little I have got to finish the front yard, ran out of gas in my tractor yesterday. When I get back home this afternoon I will do the back yard and want have to touch it for another week and a half.
Learned something yesterday, crush the egg shells real good and feed it to the chickens or, get crusted oyster Sharl's, good for them.
I am off to get that last cup of coffee so, will be checking in a little later when I get back. Have a good day. Toby

He is very homesick and feels totally isolated right now. Those of his first platoon are in a different company (different MOSes chosen) and he's having to make friends all over again. He's tired of that. Since 2004 he's said good-bye to all his classmates, they're scattered all over the globe; his girlfriend broke up with him; we've had a few family deaths and he didn't return to college as planned (although that will happen in January). He is just tired of bonding and breaking those bonds. Things are exacerbated for him due to sleep deprevation. But he ships home October 6. He called Monday night and maybe spoke a little long. He might have gotten in trouble for that.
