You can tell a lot about a person's politics by what they find funny. Something that is downright hilarious to a Democrat is often outrageously offensive to a Republican, and vice versa. To assess what your sense of humor reveals about your partisanship, we've created the Political Cartoon Rorschach Test. Rate 20 cartoons and funny pictures mocking both the left and right and we'll gauge where you fit on the political spectrum.

I'm sensing a trend here. Same result, and I see several others the same.

You are a pure, unabashed, die-hard Republican loyalist. You remain fiercely dedicated to fighting the twin evils of terrorism and liberalism, and you'd walk across a field of land mines if it meant casting a deciding vote for a Republican president. In your view, there is no higher form of patriotism than defending America against the Democratic Party and every elitist, French-loving, religion-mocking, Clinton-loving, America-hating, terrorist-appeasing, DUmmy ideal for which it stands.

I got:

You are a devoted Republican. You tend to walk in lockstep with the party, even if you have not agreed with every decision Republican leaders have made. The few differences you have are nothing compared to your complete and utter disdain for the Democratic Party and the elitism, cowardice, and godlessness for which it stands.

I think that's a pretty fair assessment.

I'm aware you're British. My family lines were loyal subjects till about 1750. The erosion of fealty can be placed on Lord Snow. The rest is history.

I not familiar with the term "footie fans". Does it refer to the British Foot or football fans?

It refers to our infamous soccer fans, yes.

Reliable allies!

Our libs taunt and threaten everything, snub our allies...you'll get little positive press here. I could only wish their threats would be countered by one in the mold of Field Marshall Bill Slim. An admirable leader.

Not really. They need to separate the last option. I didn't find them offensive but I did find many just plain dumb. Took the test twice with different answers. It seems to put you into just one of two categories, either Republican or Democrat when I could give a flip about either one of them

For the lefties, "patriotism" means defeating America.

I have a friend on the left. Her definition of patriotism and loving her country is "being willing to honestly criticize the country". I asked her if the highest love she could offer a man was to endlessly criticize him. It gave her pause...

My political profile:

"You are not satisfied with either political party and believe that the mainstream media would support even Stalin over George Bush, as their hatred knows no end. You believe in the Constitution, not parties, which means us dumbasses at about.com haven't the slightest idea how to judge your test results, nor how to make up a test that reveals such knowledge.

LOL!

I figure this is NOT what you got from about.com rating your answers. ;)

I got the same as you, moderate Republican. I consider myself more of a small "l" libertarian anyway, and if asked I list myself as "Independent", though I never vote Dem.

The part at the end about jumping ship cracked me up - no way would I go Dem. I'm not thrilled with a lot of what's going on with the Republicans (I'm more pro-small gov't) but the Dems are far worse. I'd be more likely to throw myself behind a 3rd party if the Repubs piss me off too bad.

I expected to get labeled "anarchist", actually, because I consider both parties pretty corrupt at this point and don't have a lot of faith in any politicians above the local level (and some not even there).

Pretty much what I thought I would get.

I got the same. The disdain for Democrats was right on but the lockstep part isn't.

Out of curiosity, I went back and answered the way I thought a somewhat sane Dem would, and sure enough, this is what I got:

"You are a solid Democrat. You are not as fiercely ideological or uncompromising as others in the party, but nonetheless remain a reliable supporter. If you could have your way, you'd like to see Democrats leaders take a slightly more accommodating approach on certain issues – and dial down some of their nakedly partisan and bitterly divisive rhetoric."

My REAL opinions got me the profile in post 29. The above was just a test to see if they have a "sane Dem" version of results.

That's because you must have selected some of the anti-Bush cartoons as "funny but unfair".

If you go back and deem all the idiotic Dem cartoons "not funny, unfair or stupid" or whatever the worst option is, you'll get your desired answer. :)
