Update!!!
Thanks so much. I had a crazy day over here. I had to admit my dad to an assisted living facility. Fortunately, my teenage niece was able to spend last evening with him but I had to get him out by today.
We visited my mom at the hospital and she explained that he needed to go to this place so they could take care of him. He insisted he could stay by himself but he absolutely cannot. He wouldn't get out of the car when we got there but by God's grace (I think having my niece present helped because Gramps always tries to put on a good face for his granddaughter), we got him inside.
I just cried. He was shaking like a leaf and kept saying he wanted "out of here." After I saw the hard chair in his room, I even went back to his house and loaded up my small SUV with "his" chair so he'd at least feel a little more at home.
I'm thankful my niece was with me as she was a big help.
Meanwhile, the pulmonary doc finally came in this evening around 5:30 p.m. but I was no longer at the hospital. They are doing the bronchoscopy at 9 a.m. tomorrow morning.
It's nice to lay my troubles out to brothers and sisters in Christ. Thanks again. I will keep you posted. I'm asking for prayers for a good outcome and for skill for the doctor and comfort for my mom and of course for my dad too.
Paved Paradise
Prayers coming your way for your mom, dad and your entire family. May the wisdom of the Holy Spirit be your guide.
O Lord,
there are times
when the darkness seems so deep,
and the way so heavy,
and the cross you have given us to bear
rubs hard against our shoulders.
When the darkness is at its deepest,
be our strength.
Be our light when we see no way out.
Be our hope when the hope we expect
dries up in our worries and our griefs.
When the darkness takes our voices away,
let our silence come to you,
more poignant and deep than any words,
and fill our spirit
with your words.
And in the end, Lord,
help us stay upon that path
until the dawn comes,
and we see your smiling face
and your outstretched hand
there to bring us home.
O Lord, especially be there for Paved Paradise,
his mother and father.
Help the decisions that have to be made.
Bring peace,
and comfort
and open all the doors that need to be opened.
Keep them all in the palm of your hand,
and close always to your heart.
In the name of Jesus, Amen.
Prayers for you and your parents.
