The solar-powered Vidstone will play a video of the person's life at the touch of a button.

It will not have speakers but a jack to plug in headphones at cemeteries.

As much as drunk teens like to vandalize tombstones, they had better make those screens to withstand a few good whacks from a baseball bat.

Cemetaries in other countries sometimes have a photo affixed or etched into the tombstone.
Video cemetaries might replace the burger joint or movie theater for teens to hang out.
I would think this idea is more for the upscale mausoleum crowd.

"First of its kind" on the website, but I have seen this on the news years ago, and I saw one in a cemetery but it wasn't "on"...though I was certain that one was also solar-powered and it was a sunny day, so maybe it was broken.

I think its cool also . When I visit my parent's gravesite I always wonder what kind of lives the other people buried there led .I thought of the video idea about 20 years ago. I would have placed the data in a central building where you could access by names or a number on the tombstone . Seems such a waste to see a headstone with just a name . Give the deceased some recognition for what they did while walking the Earth

Cemetaries in other countries sometimes have a photo affixed or etched into the tombstone. Just saw one in Parlin, New Jersey, a couple of weeks ago.

You can tell the deceased who were not technically savvy...their birth and death dates will be flashing "1200"

You can not only give them a face and a life, you can give them the opportunity to explain some pretty important facts of life. If a person was rather creative, they could develop a four hour dvd with an amazing amount of information, supportive of sound local and national policy. The possibilities are wide open.

Seems like a nice idea but with the lack of respect that people have for each other who would pay for the replacement flat screen?

24 hour armed guards will be included in the purchase price!Pirated copies of the videos might become a fad like baseball cards.
How many video lives do you have in your collection?
