Desert Island Goodies (vanity)
PA Times | 8/17/05 | Dr. Pissant

Posted on 08/17/2005 2:42:38 PM PDT by pissant

With the onslaught of TV shows such as Survivor, Lost, and the New Gilligan's Island and the slew of recent plane crashes, it is now time for Freepers to consider the things needed for comfort and pleasure if we find ourselves stranded on a desert island.

Since we'll obviously be packed lightly, I'm limiting the categories and quantities, so you'll need to choose wisely! The categories are music, movies, vices/hobby and non-spousal companion. And one item of your choosing!

Here are Dr. Pissants selections...

DESERT ISLAND MUST-HAVES

Top 3 music CDs:

1. Best of Ella Fitzgerald

2. Bach's Brandenburg Concertos

3. Rolling Stones Exile on Main Street (should scare away the headhunters)

2. The Unbearable Lightness of Being (Lena and Juliette)

3. To Have and Have Not

Top 3 Vices (unlimited quantities of course):

1. Pilsner Urquell (best hot weather beer)

2. Copenhagen Snuff

3. FreeRepublic access

When Desi was young, he was a fine fox.

I love my husband but oh that Desi!

Desi was still easy on the eyes in the Lucy days, but you could see the beginnings of alcohol-induced neck bloat.

He'd probably fight me too hard for the Irish Mist...

A band of freepers were stranded for most of a day on a desert isle during Freeps Ahoy III!.

We had only our bathing suits, sun tan oil, Kerry-brand flip flops, a cabana decorated with FR bumper stickers and American flags, and lots of cheese and crackers and other goodies for us starving castaways.

We had our man Friday on a little mobile beach cart, regularly bringing us icy cold mai tais and coconut/pineapple/rum time bombs.

Behind the beach was a splendid outdoor buffet worth two chests of buried gold.

Best of all, we had each other......the freeper creme de la creme, talking and yukking it up (a few were snoring on the lounges, challenging the hot sun).

Oh, to be stranded on that remote island again soon........but with freepers, of course.

Leni

You'll need to craft a small raft and float your clash CD and some vodka to my neighboring island.

Good thinking on the random item. LOL
