I've HAD it with this non-stop Aruba coverage on The Hannity and Colmes show. I used to search through (teevoooo) any H and C episode to get past the Aruba coverage.
But, then, Aruba for 2, 3, 4 SEGMENTS?!? They may as well change the name from Hannity and Colmes to NATALIE AND COLMES.
I finally deleted the program from the auto-record, and it's been weeks since I've watched the program. I ask you all to do the same to pressure these guys into a more balanced, reasonable program.
So, HONK if you're sick of the NATALIE and COLMES show! Vanity out.
*HONK!*
And what about all those poor other girls who disappear by the thousands??? Doesn't fox think THEIR story should be covered???
If Fox wants to be more helpful, there are a lot more missing people stories out there they can go after.
That said, her ratings are skyrocketing, so apparently we are in the minority on this one....
Nearly everyone is jumping on the bandwagon.
That's why the only two daily news shows I watch these days are Special Report (with Brit Hume) and Lou Dobbs Tonight.
You really don't think there's been some serious overkill on this???
What about all the other missing girls? Are they not worthy of getting some of the attention because the story may not be as "glamorous"???
FNC is only funning this stuff because people watch, and
it shows up in the ratings, and sells ad time.
I'm convinced that FNC's audience is bifurcated into two
quite disparate groups:
- conservatives
- supermarket tabloid subscribers
Each cannot grasp why the other's targetted content is on FNC.
I'm WAY over it. It's all about sensationalism.
Next up? The Geezer Preacher philanderer and his Geriatric Secretary of course.
Meanwhile, Sandy Berger found another page of the National Archives up his ass today!
I get literally hundreds of missing person alerts - "Have You Seen This Person?" - in my mailbox every year, but their stories are completely ignored. But then again, most of them aren't pretty blondes missing from exotic island locales.
That's a good one. She annoys the heck out of me. Even after her face stretch.
FR had some of the funniest threads on her at that time.
Well it's not just Fox....it's every1. They all go hog wild over a single, individual crime.
I can't recall all the girls who've been the rave in the media the last few years.
Of course, there was also the Peterson thing. Then they tried this year recently w/the Runaway Bride (when they 1st thought it was a kidnapping/murder) - milked it as it was, but died down faster only being a sham.
I just get sick of picking on these individual every-day stories. Lots of murders and disappearances happen, yet you'd think only these had happened!
I agree that more should be done to publicize other disappearances, but this is different in that it occured in another country that has systematically done all it can to protect one of their own and I think people are tired of the runaround we've received.
I never watch GWETTA. In fact, the one show I watch regularly on FOX (Sad...it's down to one interesting show for me) is Brit Hume.
Bill O is just a stupid man.
Natalie and Colmes lacks depth
Gweta...welll...tha voice.
And I REFUSE to watch ED SHILL.
BINGO! Exactly! And that's the whole problem. The overkill ironically seems to devalue those other poor souls.
#1, if THIS were my daughter, I wouldn't EXPECT there would be tons of news coverage. Given that tons of crimes including murders happen every day, many not even locally publicized.
****#2, if I had some OTHER daughter, I'd be wondering why SHE and I aren't getting all the coverage and "help" like that other girl.****
How's THAT?
This is NOT new. It's NOT just "foreign" crimes on US citizens which get huge, ridiculous, out-of-proportion coverage. See my post above mentioning some of the "crazes" of the recent years.
Why should they not be so publicized? Cuz such crimes happen every day, and they're frankly, irrelevent to millions of Americans/people, while other events have more potential relevence to most of us. Sorry, that's the plain, hard truth. News should not merely be a "missing persons" investigation. That's for the policing authorities to do.
"If Fox wants to be more helpful, there are a lot more missing people stories out there they can go after"
Make sure you email FOX and let them know you would like 24/7 newscoverage of all the missing people. Because 24/7 is what it would take. Then you would really have something to post a vanity about.
It doesn't need to be 24/7. Heck, they could cover thousands of missing people if they merely divide the time they spend on Aruba.
HONK. A girl is missing. That's really too bad. but WHY do they make such a HUGH deal about it. You'd think we were in the midst of a national crises. It is ONE girls who is missing. THOUSANDS of kids go missing every year, but this one gets talked about CONSTANTY. She's probably already dead too
Because he can't come up with anything original...that's why he continues to beat dead horses.
Honk.
