Hidden deep in the rainforests of Central America, stand the ruins of an ancient civilization that once prospered, and then vanished. These were the Maya people, and this is the country of Guatemala.
These stunning cities of the past stand as clues to a mystery thousands of years old. While Europe was in the dark ages, it was the Maya who harnessed the knowledge of the stars, and the celestial movements, to create a mystical union of man, nature and the gods. It was a world of great kings, elaborate ceremonies, fierce battles, and even human sacrifice.
18 Survivors will be marooned within this mysterious and rugged terrain.
For the first time, the castaways will actually live within the ruins of a vanished civilization, and they will be forced to embrace the ancient Maya lifestyle.

Nah. Just wanted to say hi. Now I have to run - I just realized it's time to pick up my daughter from teen prayer group. I'll be back shortly.

Sorry to take so long to get back but had to get children in bed, etc. "Haven't seen you since last week. I haven't been on. I've been working at church, we are a red cross site and have been busy. Also, I've just stayed away. Needed a break from it all, ya know. Just been going to the tv threads and toons. I have even turned Rush off and been listening to books on tape. I'm listening to Killer Angels right now.

I haven't posted much this past week either. I was on the thread about W's speech last Thursday from NOLA--wow, there are some twisted people lurking around the edges of FR. Just thinking about what they said gives me indigestion. I don't blame you for taking a break.

See ya. Watching CSI too :)
To: mystery-ak
I'll keep you in my prayers. Maybe he can come home soon.

That was why I have taken a break. Some nasty people on here at times. At times I feel like I've stumbled onto DU.

I think some of these loons really are DUmmies in disguise, just trying to cause trouble--or they're really nuts. I've seen evidence of both.
To: silent_jonny
Yes, you are probably right. I don't know if I have had overload but it is hard for me to even go on the "day in the life thread. I click on, look at the pictures and leave. :( I guess I am in a slump, lol. jonny did you ever send your picture to the President? I hope you have.

No :) I'm not finished with it yet--I've been busy working on other things. I'll get back to it eventually :)
I agree with you about being in a slump. The hurricanes, the constant Bush-bashing--and then I see the pictures of the president visibly burdened by everything that he has to deal with ... It's too much. All of it.
