Hidden deep in the rainforests of Central America, stand the ruins of an ancient civilization that once prospered, and then vanished. These were the Maya people, and this is the country of Guatemala.
These stunning cities of the past stand as clues to a mystery thousands of years old. While Europe was in the dark ages, it was the Maya who harnessed the knowledge of the stars, and the celestial movements, to create a mystical union of man, nature and the gods. It was a world of great kings, elaborate ceremonies, fierce battles, and even human sacrifice.
18 Survivors will be marooned within this mysterious and rugged terrain.
For the first time, the castaways will actually live within the ruins of a vanished civilization, and they will be forced to embrace the ancient Maya lifestyle.

Be all right with me if they come back, but they'll be fast voted off.

Is everyone aware that OLN is replaying the first season?
LOL. Please don't spoil it for me by telling me who wins! My money is on the truck-driver woman!

They're down to the final four. I'm seeing things I had forgotten about. Last night's challenge was a quiz and poor Rudy kept answering the questions with "I don't know."

LOL! I can see it now ... the survivors having to retrieve whale blubber to stay warm. We'd probably see a lot more hankie pankie going on ... body heat being what it is ;-)
To: Slicksadick
Thanks for posting the pic. This is the first I've seen of the new cast.

This is going to be awesome. My parents live in Guatemala 10 months out of the year so I am excited to see what the Survivors will go through. :)

My pick for the one who can do the most situps. Danni Boatwright. Yeah, but a skinny girl like that can't make it far. You need some reserves on this show.

One of my favorite challenges, Suzanne!
Rudy and the videocamera: "I dunno...." "I dunno...."
Man I love Rudy. And I'd forgotten how good Survivor was without a boatload of models/actors all masquerading as having other professions. Real people in Season One.

Wow - they all got matching purses!

Please add me to the ping list. I just finish (or I'm about to finish) watching the first Survivor series now showing on OLN. I've always avoided it, but I've been hooked on this 5 year old rerun, and I alread know who wins.
I'll be watching this series. I'll have to record it on DVR, because my wife detests the show. I'll watch when she goes to bed. :-)

Can you add me to the list please?

Stephanie did pretty well with a very similar build in the last episode.

I don't think you could count Stephanie's ribs or see her hip bones protruding when she started. She was muscular and athletic, not skeletor.

Which one is Gary Hogeboom?
To: SoothingDave
I'm sorry, I just can't see any ribs in that picture. I do however note some well defined abdominal muscles. Her biceps appear to be well developed as well. I suppose time well tell as to her lasting the fasting. IMHO a person her age with that definition generally has great self control and a good work ethic. I may be wrong.
