These stunning cities of the past stand as clues to a mystery thousands of years old. While Europe was in the dark ages, it was the Maya who harnessed the knowledge of the stars, and the celestial movements, to create a mystical union of man, nature and the gods. It was a world of great kings, elaborate ceremonies, fierce battles, and even human sacrifice.
18 Survivors will be marooned within this mysterious and rugged terrain.
For the first time, the castaways will actually live within the ruins of a vanished civilization, and they will be forced to embrace the ancient Maya lifestyle.

Bobby John?
I have never watched Survivor, but you can ping me to any of your threads. One time or many times is OK.
I wrote earlier that water on an 11 mile hike in the jungle woudl be a BIG problem. I was right...margaret may be a nurse, but she's a dumb one..the reason allt he guys cramped up is that they needed 2-3 times as much water as the females...On a hike like that, under those heat conditions...you'd need to drink about 2-3 QUARTS of water, dependign upon body size, over 24 hours, and NO way they carried anuywheres near that much..Actually, unlesss they had acces to water en route..a very dangerous stunt..
BTW..If I were Steph, or any contestant getting a second shot..I'd spend the months before EATING like a pig, and gaining 20-30 lbs of body fat.. You'll burn it right off.. Steph looks thinner, than when she left the show last time, and she has NO chest now..Can anyone grab some pics from last Survivor for a side-by-side?
Gotta head to bed and (sniffle-sniffle) read this tomorrow. I cannot believe that I missed the FIRST episode. I am so sad. Now what the heck am I gonna do? I *love* the first episodes. This totally s####*%)@*)#%*@%)&@&%@ bwwwwwwwwwaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhHHHHH!!! Why can't some enterprising soul make missed episodes into a pay-per-review and we could pay to watch the whole thing online? We're not a tivo family. I am so so bummed. Really bummed.
I can guarrantee it will be available for download on several bit torrent sites tomorrow.
I like Stephanie too, but last season was the first time I ever remember one of the strong players not being booted off. Her and Tom were my favorites.
Hi all,
as usual I have to watch the episode after my secobnd shift job. It was good, I can tell even the nice "sets" won't make up for lots of water challenges and underwater shots. Bobby John will recover. The women on his tribe seem smarter about keeping the men around. The red haired guy must go I agree with some he is irritable. Without getting to know these new survivors I have to say my favorite to win must be Bobby John. He deserves it based on last season alone.See you all next week.
Good point. Actually, that's an excellent point. Survivor didn't think this through. Somebody could've died.
LOL!
I don't think the powers that be will be planning any more 11 mile hikes.
That said, it should also be noted that the men would be at a disadvantage here cause they do not retain as much water as women do.

Australia (Outback) is still my favorite. You know when contestants start losing their hair due to malnutrition that they are not on easy street. I like to see folks battling the elements as well as each other and Australia was tough.
I have never watched the first season because the first time I turned it on the absolute first thing I saw was Richard naked and I decided it just wasn't my kind of show. heheheh! Survivor Australia I would never had watched however it was on right after the super bowl and I got sucked in (besides the gals on Australia were sexah hawt!)BTW what do you all think of Richard and his IRS trouble?
This season looks like it might be the toughest yet! 11 mile hike in jungle conditions is not for the faint of heart!
Marquesas (#4) is good, Thailand (#5) and Amazon (#6) were almost bad enough to make me give up, but I loved Pearl Islands, Vanuuatu, and especally Palau.
All Stars was just weird.
I like Geneva. I'm in Boulder, CO now. Believe me, you don't want to trade. :)
I'm sure there were lots of men that liked that show!
It's hard not to like their team. However, I also like the nurse. I think the nurse will be around to the final 4 because she is going to make herself mighty useful.
I like the nurse as well! I got her making the merge. Being a veteran Survivor Junkie (yeah I watch the show over and over looking for clues to who the next bootee is, I am usually in at least three betting pools during each season) I got a few little secrets about how to get some insight how things will go.
Here is a real good way to tell about alliances even when there is none mentioned.
WATCH don't LISTEN.
After the first showing (I am assuming you all tape the show, all Survivor junkies do!) watch the second time with the sound off and notice body language and pairings.
Stephanie has gravitated (or vice versa) towards Gary. Not sure if this because he was out in Front on the 11 mile hike or what but I am betting this is an early indication of a power alliance.
Though the Evil Mark Burnett has tricked me many times. I play Ahab to his Moby far too often.
I just wanted to welcome the following new Survivor Pingees:
Conservativebabe, Homemom, I Drive Too Fast, Raybob and Stentor.
Welcome to the madhouse!
And just to bring you all up to date, I post my weekly picks (& Pings) on Thursday morning and my recaps (& pings) on Monday morning.
Take care, Cuz
