Arizona home to one of the most beautiful locations in the United States.

The USA Weekend Magazine has rated the Red Rock Country in Sedona as the Most Beautiful Place in America.

The selection was made by travel writers, outdoor enthusiasts and relatives of the magazine's staff.

Sedona beat out the likes of the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, and sights in Hawaii and Florida.

The guidelines for voters were simple, that the place be accessible to the public and reasonably well known.

For more information on the weekly Sunday newspaper supplement, visit its Web site at www.usaweekend.com.

Living there must feel like being a heavy smoker - even if you never light up. ;)

I don't smoke, but I know what you mean. You have to get up and slice through the air.

8. From Key Largo to Key West in Florida

Very beautiful here except for the times you have to dodge the weather. I lived in FL for a time as a kid and my memories are beauty/rained twice a day/alligators ;)

Isn't Sedona a lesbian destination spot?

And a new ager spot and a UFO enthusiast spot. There's wackos of all varieties there. All part of the charm.

Sedona is beautiful...Oak Creek Canyon... Slide Rock. It is a genuine oasis in the middle of nowhere. If there are any Freeper RV'ers, the Ranch Sedona RV park was a great place along the Oak Creek (although I don't know if any damage was done after the last rain). Check with them to make sure. :)

Also very southwestern "artsy". Smaller experience than Scottsdale (which is great too), although Sedona's Oak Creek Canyon has a beautiful treeline among the creek. If you like Kokopelli's (sp?) and the like, and don't mind taking a drive in your RV, I enjoyed it. My Sedona trip has decorated my yard and house. My husband and I only planned to stay for 2 nights...turned into 5.

I've been there. It is beautiful. The town has too many artsy fartsy hippies and the like for my tastes!

Okay, so it took only seven posts for the Pittsburgh 'dis' to happen. Have you ever seen the view from Mt. Washington (a high cliffside w/observation decks) looking down on the confluence of the Mon and Allegheny river meeting to form the Ohio...with lights on the skyline twinkling, the fountain at Point State Park running it is awesome. I really don't believe any other major city has a vantage point like Mt. Washington.

Watch next year's MLB All-Star game...it is being played at PNC Park on Pittsburgh's North Shore...take a look at the night shots of the city...you will be impressed.

Went there for the "experience", ya know? I have a great hand-crafted lizard on my wall and Kokopelli's that I love...ok with you? ;)
I'll be among the trees and streams someday, when careers allow...I can dream. ;)
