STONE-THROWER (Rolling Stones record Bush-bash song)

PRESIDENT Bush takes it on the chin in the new Rolling Stones tune "Sweet Neo Con." In the most political song from their upcoming "A Bigger Bang" album, Mick Jagger sings: "You call yourself a Christian, I call you a hypocrite/ You call yourself a patriot. Well, I think your are full of [bleep]!" Jagger tells Newsweek he's not sweating possible repercussions. "I think [Keith Richards] is a bit worried because he lives in the U.S.," crows the English rocker. "But I don't."

By the way, cool name. Do you subscribe to the magazine?

I didn't know there was a "MojoWire" magazine.

MojoWire was the name of my son's rock 'n roll frat band when he was in college at Penn State.

At least the Beatles retired with some dignity, the Stones said they would hang it up before they got old, now their in it for the money and to admit they are not growing old.

I lost any respect I have for Mick Jagger when he decides to put down Christians.

I'm sick of their music anyhow, heard the songs a zillion times

This is what radio personality Don Imus would refer to as "a Dixie Chicks moment."

The Dixie Chicks played to country audiences before their "moment", and country music listeners do not take kindly to having their country and their President trashed and compared to Nazi Germany. They responded by turning the Chicks off, and since liberals don't listen to country music, that ended their career.

The Rolling Stones' main audience these days is that segment of the Boomers that has refused to recognize that the 60's have been over for almost 40 years, and so they'll lap this slop up and beg for more. They'll have orgasms about how "Mick is like really sticking it to Chimpy, dude!" while they tie their hair back into gray ponytails and stretch those old tye-dyed t-shirts over their pot bellies.

This song will get played to death by all the radio stations and will probably clean up at the Grammys. All the music critics will rave about it and excitedly proclaim that "the Stones are back, man!"

Disappointing news, indeed. It sounds like Keef's American celebrity circle ideas. Disappointing in that the Stones were never before so specifically topical, even in The Street Fighting Man or Gimme Shelter, which is what gives these tunes the staying power. Who'll remember the meaning of 'neo-con' in 30 years?

'Now finally they've gone and done it with 'A Bigger Bang', a title which apparently reflects their "Fascination with the scientific theory about the origin of the universe."'

If you believe 'A Bigger Bang' means that there is a London bridge in Arizona for sale.

I noticed this non-related pic of Fergie from the Black-Eyed Peas, notice anything odd?:

Is it a big-time fashion statement now to piss your pants?

Now, the last time the Stones went topical, 25 years ago, they got in trouble - lawsuit threats, etc - and the tune is still unreleased (but available for downloading on the net and well worth it - one of the truly great Stones sides.)

Claudine's back in jail again
Claudine's back in jail (again)
Claudine's back in jail again
Claudine

Claudine's back in jail again
Claudine's back in jail (again)
She only does it at weekends
Claudine
Oh, Claudine

Now only Spider knows for sure
But he ain't talkin' about it any more
Is he, Claudine?

There's blood in the chalet
And blood in the snow
(She)Washed her hands of the whole damn show
The best thing you could do, Claudine

Shot him once right through the head
Shot him twice right through the chest
The judge says (ruled) it was an accident
Claudine
Accidents will happen
(In the best homes)

And Claudine's back in jail again
Claudine's back in jail again
Claudine's back in jail again
Claudine

(Claudine's back in jail again
Claudine's back in jail again
Claudine's back in jail again
Claudine) [additional chorus]

I'll tell you something
Now Claudine's back in jail again
Claudine's back in jail again
Claudine's back in jail again
Claudine

Tell you one more
Claudine's back in jail again
Claudine's back in jail again
Claudine's back in jail again
Huh Claudine?

Oh Claudine...

Oooo ...
What about the children, baby?
Poor, poor children

Now I threaten my wife with a gun
I always leave the safety on
I recommend it
Claudine

Now she pistol whipped me once or twice
But she never tried to take my life
(What do you think about that)
Claudine

The prettiest girl I ever seen
I saw you on the movie screen
Hope you don't try to make a sacrifice of me
Claudine
(Don't get trigger happy with me)
Don't wave a gun at me
(Claudine)

I said Claudine's back in jail again
Claudine's back in jail again
Claudine's back in jail again
Claudine

I said Claudine's back in jail again
Claudine's back in jail again
She only does it at weekends
Claudine

Keith, will you put that weapon down?

Oh Claudine

Oh Claudine

The truly moronic ones are those that idolize these superannuated twits.

Let's see, the Stones are the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra of the boomer generation.

Good. Maroon 5's one of crappiest, suckiest bands in the history of sucking crap. They are a black hole and a sphincter rolled up into one. Overrated, predictable, lyrics by 12 year olds, amen. I'd be embarassed if Maroon 5 was made of Republicans and conservatives. I've taken dumps that have had more social relevance than Maroon 5.

I suppose washed-up 65-year-old rockers need to do something to call attention to their latest tour. I remember when they were good, back in the '60s and '70s. Too bad they decided to leave a disgraceful last impression.

No surprise from these guys, anything for some shock value to get attention..something they've been doing for 40 odd years. I'm still surprised baby boomers still go to see these grandpas, especially since their last good album was 33 years ago....grow up and let these guys retire or die or something.

Here is a a note I am sending to the Stones- I love the Stones and I have no problem at all NOT listening to, buying or playing this album. None... none at all. So in your ear Mick. You wanna join the shut up and sing crew? So make your millions and drink your expensive bottled water-while real men die for freedom. So you are clowns among men, stones boys- whatever.

Why would anyone pay money to see a bunch of decrypt geriatrics shaking their dried-up-bony asses mouthing so much nonsensical twaddle? What is there to see, but the ancient remains of a dying group.
