MY NEW PET PEEVE
Posted on 08/02/2005 10:36:12 AM PDT by redlocks322
I just spent my lunch hour at the grocery store. I was so ticked off by the time I left, I had sweat rolling down my face.
First of all, (and I'm not knocking stay at home mom's) but is the noon hour the ONLY hour in the day that they can schedule hauling their screaming bawling children to the grocery store???? I mean come on... those of us who work 50 hours a week use our lunch hour to get things done, not to tango in the isle trying to get around a passle of "play group" kids on a field trip!
To top it all of... after my $260 worth of groceries, there was no one left to sack them for all the "mommy groups" so I sacked them myself and had to carry them out myself, all so I can get back to work and fume over it.
I think there should be a law against people who don't work to stay out of the grocery store from 11am to 1pm during the week and let us workers have the opportunity to get our stuff done.
Anyway, done venting... like I said I have nothing against stay at home moms as long as they stay at home during the lunch time hours.

I hear ya. I was in WM this past weekend, wanting to buy a new shirt, and it took about a half-hour before I could even check out!

I don't think you do. This rant is not about the kids It's about stay at home mothers who have the nerve to bring their children to the grocery store while all the truly valuable members of society (aka full time workers) are using it.Well I didn't read it that way but can see how it can be taken as such. My favorite grocery store has a children's play area that staffs employees to watch the kids while the parents are shopping. The kids have fun and parents can get their shopping done without any, 'can I have that? can I have that?' LOL. Of course, I say that when strolling the booze aisle. ;)

Kid down the street was Saran Wrapped to a telephone pole in his birthday suit.
He'd been picking on me, and my brother decided to go even the odds.
I was shown the results.

LOL...
we never did that, mainly because after that one kid was forced to eat dog crap, no one really messed with my brother again.
It also helped that I was the biggest kid in the neighborhood by a wide margin...

Only if you're on the losing side. I have gotten high marks pretty consistently (pats self on back).

The store I worked in a few years ago, had a play center that you could sign your kids into. They had employees that watched the kids. The play area was locked so only authorized employees could enter, and the parents had to get their ID photocopied when leaving their children. The child could only be turned over to the parent who had placed them in the play center. The mom's loved it.
