As a participant in the Hobbit Hole series of threads, we've learned a few things over the years. At first we kept just letting the thread build, until we maxed out at 65,535 which is the hard limit.
But the Mods asked us to start a new thread when we hit 5 or 6 thousand instead of letting them get that big. Apparently it is really difficult to do things like deleting posts when there are tens of thousands of posts... so that's what we do. Just start a new thread after several thousand posts and ask the mods to lock the old one. Easy to do.

sionnsar - Is this the same ping list that used to be handled by Cybercowboy777? I was signed up for that one once upon a time.

Thanks for the input. I will pass that on to the Undead Thread, where the same effect has been noted.

I participate at Soundpolitics.com quite a lot (under a different alias, of course!). A point was raised over there that questions the wisdom of talking the relative strategies and tactics of conservative politics on such an open forum. It isn't like we are giving away secrets, or anything that involved, but it is something akin to airing our dirty laundry, and it makes me uncomfortable.
While this may be too "open" itself, there needs to be an informal place where conservatives can meet to bounce ideas off one another.
Recent events such as the disappointing announcements of Mike McGavick and Susan Hutchison (disappointing because of the revelations of their liberal stances on citizens Initiative rights and election reform) cause us to reflect on how we can raise our voices to those who would run as to our opinions and priorities.
I do not think that McGavick or Hutchison know what is important to us (and I wonder if they care).
As always, provoking thought and eliciting comment!

rockrr, yes, this is intended to be the replacement for the one Cybercowboy777 ran until his departure several months ago.
