Today's topic was to have been the first topic for me when I took the apron strings from Grellis - but it had slipped my memory.......so now I have returned to it!
GRELLIS wrote: BizzeeMom suggested "Worth Every Penny," discussing items which our families constantly put to good use. I think it is a great idea--there are a lot of things other families have probably invested in (which would never occur to me) that are worth their weight in gold.
Let's have some fun guys and gals!
Howdy everyone, sorry so late with the coffe this morning. Pain meds are still knocking me for a loop!

Hiya! I was thinking about you! How you feeling?
Good Morning.
As to how I am feeling, let me put it this way - I would actually like it if I were able to do laundry :)
But my desk chair is too big to fit in the laundry room and I'm still real unsteady on the crutches, and standing on one leg for any amount of time hurts like the dickens.
Thanks for asking (aren't you sorry you did.....LOL)
Well, I hope you heal up quickly!
You have no idea how many times I got birthday or Christmas presents like that. "Why did I get this?" But I will always end up using them a lot. i.e., My brother-in-law gave me a Martha Stewart blanket one year. My thought was, "ugh!" It's probably one of the most used and most loved blankets I have.
LOL!!!
Thank you very much - so does my husband :) He's already tired of laundry, and cooking and cleaning, on top of everything else he normallyy does :)
Hi Gabz, Everyone!
For our family, any sports package on satellite TV is worth every penny. we watch so many sports that it is really worth it for us.
Along the same line, my husband uses his Mr. Beer to brew the beer we enjoy while watching sports!
We also get alot of use out of our food processor. Now we are both hoping to get a kitchen-aid. I am a little wary of spending the $179.99 that they are going for at costco. Does anyone have one that can offer advice please?!
Hope you get better Gabz!
LOL!
I had the same reaction to a huge mixing bowl my SIL gave me one year for Christmas.............I don't know what I would do with out that bowl now :)
I would DIE for one of those Kitchen-Aids.......my advice, start saving for it.......they are worth every penny of the price. $179.99 is a very good price.
What they all have in common is that each one does exactly what it is supposed to do without inflicting any unintended consequences on us.
Here's a few things I wish I had not bought: Dodge Aries, HP computer, microwaveable egg poacher.
I was thinking of using some of hubby's bonus money in August, I just don't want to buy something that we will never use.
That is the worst feeling, buying something that you never use..what a waste!
A microwave egg poacher????????? LOL! I've never heard of that. Why do you wish you had not bought it? (the other things on your list I understand)
I know exactly what you mean. That is one of the absolute worst feelings.
Last birthday party (we have a quarterly party for all the birthdays) I was so excited that after 12 years my in-laws' FINALLY know me. My mil got me the prettiest mirror that looked like a window with buttons, angels, etc. One sil got me scrapbooking stuff (of course I had told my mil this is what I was into). My other sil got me fairy earrings. My bil's wife got me bath stuff. I waas so excited.
Sounds like you had a great b'day!!!!! And the quarterly family party sounds like a splendid idea!!!!!!
Baby, swing, rice cooker...my 3 year-old is driving me nuts today, I think he's cutting a tooth or something. I'll be back later, folks!
Oh you poor thing (him too)
