Last night, many of us read the thread wherein Petronski announced his coming marriage to madame Cyborg. (Check DRUDGE: Unnamed Senior White House source: Cyborg and Petronski to be married...). During the course of the Cyborg-Petronski Thread, the subject of a Free Republic feature wherein single Freepers can meet their fellow conservatives.
I have a simple proposition. We could start a regular thread akin to the Freeper Canteen. Such a regular thread could serve as an opportunity for single Freepers to engage in Virtual Mingling. Also, any Freepers who have single, conservative offspring would be welcome to participate so as to arrange for introductions for their kids.
Special note to Jim: Just think of how many conservative would not have met fellow right-minded folks had it not been for FR! Cyborg and Petronski owe you one.

Hey, I'm a girl - better odds for me! Yeah, lucky you!
BTW, How come conservatives are all about competition until it comes to dating? Then they turn into socialists, complaining about a "lack of fairness." :)

Re: "I'm single, fat, ugly and poor."
No fair, Bill. That's Son's pickup line!
Yet I'm willing to let you use it from now on, Bill. I never had much luck with it except when I was dating homeless women.
Yeah, Son liked dating homeless women. When the date was over, he just let them out anywhere!

We started off quite by accident! The earliest members just kinda knew one another from various Tolkien threads, and then one day someone posted a thread about a New Zealander building a Hobbit Hole and we got to chatting and never quite left.
Now we just talk about everything under the sun. And elsewhere, too.

If an old married woman may jump in, you've done a Land Office business today! Congrats. Can I dance at your wedding? BTW, did you hear the Mayor's "clarification" on the local news tonight?

"Is that why you whistle?"
Silly person. If the context is appropriate (and it seldom is), I might whistle to let a girl know I think she's pretty. I know none of this would make any sense to you, of course, since you work in a factory that makes kazoos and slide whistles....

Re: "I get the impression that all the women on FreeRepublic are married, in their 60's, live in Texas and have sons in the Marine Corps."
And just what is so bad about that?
Yeah! Some of them old braods will knock you eyes out! They learn it from their jarhead sons.
Some of the best times I ever had were with 60-year old Texas women...
Hee hee! Yep, they were all too slow to run away from Son!

No problem. The Ole joke was a classic.
I think AAC has a good idea here for regular singles threads.

Yeah, for FReeper women it will probably work great. You'll be getting constant FReepmails from clueless, geeky, wuss-like, inartful male suitors with no game whatsoever, who wonder why you are being mean and won't reply to them, because...
...oh, wait. That's real life, too. ;)

First thing you got to do is get you a sexy tagline...
Take mine: (Bitch wanted... Apply at fireplug at 6th and Mapel)
