Last night, many of us read the thread wherein Petronski announced his coming marriage to madame Cyborg. (Check DRUDGE: Unnamed Senior White House source: Cyborg and Petronski to be married...). During the course of the Cyborg-Petronski Thread, the subject of a Free Republic feature wherein single Freepers can meet their fellow conservatives.
I have a simple proposition. We could start a regular thread akin to the Freeper Canteen. Such a regular thread could serve as an opportunity for single Freepers to engage in Virtual Mingling. Also, any Freepers who have single, conservative offspring would be welcome to participate so as to arrange for introductions for their kids.
Special note to Jim: Just think of how many conservative would not have met fellow right-minded folks had it not been for FR! Cyborg and Petronski owe you one.
Your tagline is making me hungry.
How's this for sad...it's a Friday night, I'm having canned tuna fish, and crinkled carrots with butter for dinner with Dove ice cream for dessert, and then watching an old Bette Davis movie alone afterwards.
Heh...I feel downright pitiful, even if it's kinda fun.
I just moved here. Really could use a few friends, though somehow I doubt I'll find many willing to watch old movies. I'm weird that way.
"Well, forget it all. I'd forgotten what it was like when a woman's mean"
WOAH! Slow-down, mate. Do not make such a rash judgement. It will not endear you to anyone. Just chill. Seriously. Life goes on.
Preacher man! What schools have you considered?

Hmm, sounds like a good time for some fresh Tex-Mex! That'll cheer-up anyone - or melt the roof of their mouth.
Is Petra Verkaik a Freeper? BTW, Ron Jeremy is a Freeper. Don't know if the Freeper Females would want to meet him however.
Hola, esse! How is the book deal going?
"Just chill. Seriously. Life goes on."
Okay, it's my own fault. Pardon my youthful naiivety and lack of cynical experience.
There's a little observation that I've made about that. When someone comes up and addresses me as "Pastor," everything is alright; it's going to be a friendly conversation. When they address me as "Preacher," I have to brace for a complaint or criticism.
I go to a seminary two hours away from my town. Yes, two hours away. There's a rumor that they might be accredited soon for a Ph.D., or I might go to UMKC or the University of Missouri.
I like a women who is hard to get and yet I take rejection as a sign that the she is just not interested, I guess that explains why I am still single.
Its not cynicism, it is just experience. Don't worry, mate. I have been shot down and I have had some sucesses. There are worse things in life than not getting a ladies attention. A steel spike in the head is worse. Being exiled on Ceti Alpha VI is worse. Just go with the flow.
Last night, I watched "Gone with the Wind" while eating a T.V. dinner. But I had fun!
ladies=lady's
My bad.
Heh...I can never make it through that movie without wanting to shake Scarlett until her teeth rattle!
I've been told I should read the book in order to understand her better. Not sure I want to.
Mmmmm...Tex-Mex...
There are actually some very decent restaurants here in Fort Collins. Quite a change from rural Vermont. We have a lot of *excellent* diners back home, but very little in the way of ethnic places.

Oh, okaaaay....
Actually, I enjoy seeing her transformation from a girl to a woman around the time that she's working as a nurse for the war wounded. I just love the faults that the characters have, and how tragic the whole "love story" actually is.
Have you had any Vietnamese? I can seriously dig some chau gia dipped in fresh nuoc mam. The southern Vietnamese is more savoury, IMHO.
You know, I barely remember that. Maybe it's time I watched it again.
And hey, it has Clark Gable. Can't fault it for that...
The movie looks beautiful on DVD, BTW.
I don't know if politics are all that important. For example, my girlfriend is COMPLETELY apolitical. She hasn't the slightest interest in the subject. Also the best place for guys to meet women is at the hospital. You don't have to be sick to go to the hospital. You can just hang out in the cafeteria. Lots of nurses there. I met my girlfriend at Jackson Hospital in Miami.
