Anyone just watch NBC nightly news? they had a story about a new "controversy" involving the White House over some college girls wearing sandals to the White House. Granted this was somewhat light hearted, but how pointless was that story.

Of course the MSM thought Lewinsky's thong was pointless. I didn't see it but sounds like a cheap shot at the President since the formal dress code for the Oval Office was reestablished

Pointless? How about an MSM outlet that realizes the latest scandal is nothing (Rove - Plame), and wants to suggest a light way to exit from the story....especially now that John Roberts has been nominated?

I question the timing of that story. It's Bush's fault.

I think they were trying to be funny. Making fun of the democrats and their "everything is a controversy, blah, blah, blah . . .".

It probably is Bush's fault. He's got those stupid demonrats so frustrated, they're trying to make an issue out of SOMETHING! Anything will do. Even sandals.

With all the problems in the world, why are they worrying about sandals? Can you see how fun this story could be if Clinton was still Prez

Just their way of paying tribute to John Kerry.

Yes, I was thinking the same thing. I read that the mother and brother of one of the flip-flopping young ladies were mortified and completely embarrassed that their family member showed up at the White House like that. Evidently, flips are a bit a fashion statement right now, as some have rhinestones, etc. and can cost quite a bit, but even the sellers of such footwear have gone public and said ANY kind of flip flops in the WHITE HOUSE are a big NO-NO.
