The murder victims who emerged from VM's wand were (well, first was Pettigrew's hand) Cedric, the caretaker, Bertha Jorkins, and the Potters. Once the Potters appeared, the murder victims stopped emerging.
I am reading the whole series again--it has finally been returned to me after a long loan. In Sorcerer's Stone, when DD and McGonagall are outside the Dursley's waiting for Hagrid with the baby HP, DD mentions that 11 long years of terror are finally over. He also makes mention of the scores of murders that VM has committed. I have forgotten all of this over the past few years.

Well, there goes that theory. It still might lead to something though. Knowing Voldie's mind whose murders would he like to commemerate by using it to become an horcrux. Definitely his father. Maybe the Potters including Harry. Maybe Moaning Myrtle, although he did not directly kill her, but had the basilisk do it. I don't know if that counts. When did he have all of them done? I would think after looking back that they were all set up so the Potters would be the last. That is he would have had the six done by the time he was defeated so probably not the Potters. I'm rambling here.
On the scores of murders that VM has committed, that could be like the millions of murders that Hitler or Stalin committed. Not personally, but at their command, just a thought.
