There is so much left to tie up! I just know that there is a larger story line with Neville!

I know! I loved when McGonagall said, "It's high time your grandmother be proud of the grandson she has rather then the one she wishes she had."

I was also very surprised that we didn't hear anything about Susan Bones. With Ameila Bones' murder she's basically an orphan. Voldermort killed her entire family. I think we will hear more from her, too.

Couldn't DD have talked with them from his portrait and given them all comfort and advice, right away, once he appeared? Why didn't he?

Dying's rather traumatic. He needs to sleep off the shock.

...especially to protect Draco from being a murderer. That sounds like Dumbledore.

It mirrors exactly why he was so reluctant to tell Harry about the prophecy. Prophesy? Yeesh, I'm tired today. Anyway, DD knew that Harry would realize what the prophecy means: He will be murdered, or he will murder. Both options were horrific to DD. He may not look upon Draco as favorably as he does Harry, but he couldn't allow Draco's fate to be sealed because of him. It also explains why he was pleading to Severus--he wanted to be killed quickly, before Draco mustered up the courage to do it himself. Snape acted very quickly. He pushed Draco aside; moments later, he killed DD.

I do not understand DD's insistence that Harry should share information with R and H but not with the other professors. I don't get that at all. Maybe, since DD knew that Harry is closer to them than anyone else--and would, I assume, recognize if they were being imperiused--they are the safest confidants. Does Harry know McGonagall well enough to be able to recognize if she were being controlled? The Weasleys? He has spent a fair amount of time with many of the characters, but R and H are the only ones he knows inside and out.

Just a thought, the chosen one was born at the end of July. Did the Prophecy actually say which July???

Ron and Hermione are now of wizarding age and Harry will be, too, at the beginning of Book 7 so they can all go off together to defeat V. Interesting that Ron failed his "driving" - apparating - test and Harry hasn't taken it yet but can.

I think you are right with Neville. Ever since the last book, I thought there were bigger plans for him. I thought Amelia Bones may have taken the locket and she goes by Amelia when it was actually her middle name. That would at least cover the last 2 initials. It may be Regulus Black, which would explain mention of a locket that no one could open. Although, they did say that Voldemort actually killed Amelia Bones himself.

I think DD is really dead, and Fawkes will somehow go to Harry. I was sure he died when Harry could move. It sure is fun to speculate on things though! After awhile though, I need to get out the tinfoil! LOL!

No, but it did say Voldermort would mark him somehow. Ah! I found it!

`The one with the power to vanquish the Dark Lord approaches. born to those who have thrice defied him, born as the seventh month dies . and the Dark Lord will mark him as his equal, but he will have power the Dark Lord knows not . and either must die at the hand of the other for neither can live while the other survives . the one with the power to vanquish the Dark Lord will be born as the seventh month dies .'

So I guess the assumption was that he would be born the following July.

I was just looking for some info on Regulus Black and saw that Regulus is actually a star in the constellation Leo and is known as "The Heart of the Lion". Interesting.

My son says Regulus was a Death Eater, killed when he wanted to get out. Now we have some connection to Gryffindor...the only relic left associated with Godric is the sword in DD's office, right?

As far as we know, that is correct. I do remember Sirius saying that he didn't think Regulus was important enough to be killed by Voldermort himself. I want to say that Sirius said that something frightened Regulus, but by then it was too late to get out and that is why he was killed. I don't have my books handy, so I will have to check it out a little later.

Correct. It is in his office.

I just reread the passage in OOTP about Regulus. Sirius says the Regulus got scared and was killed by Voldemort. Then he says it was more likely on Voldemort's orders, as Regulus was probably not important enough. However, if Voldemort did find out that Regulus did something with the horcrux or just plain thought about turning against him, Voldemort wouldn't confide that to the Death Eaters. He would tell them that Regulus got scared, tried to quit so Regulus had to be killed. JKR doesn't elaborate on the hows and whys of Regulus' death. Maybe the heart of the lion came out in his actions of the horcrux.

I never leave home without them:

"From what I found out after he died, he got in so far, then panicked abut what he was being asked to do and tried to back out. Well, you just don't hand in your resignation to Voldemort."

Here's a thought... was Regulus asked to do the same thing Draco was asked to do? Hmmmm?

Madame Bone's full name is Amelia Susan Bones. Her niece Susan was named after her aunt's middle name. So her initials are AMB.

Could be.

Going on the assumption that he was the RAB from the note he would have to have knowledge of where the horcruxes were hidden and how to retrieve them or be a very powerful wizard.
