WILL DFU FACE A GRAND JURY FOR NAMING STEVEN D. LAVINE OF THE CIA?
DFU inside information | 7-14-05 | DFU

Posted on 07/14/2005 9:03:00 PM PDT by doug from upland

Okay, folks, hold on to your hats. This may be the craziest thing I have done yet on FreeRepublic.

I am publicly naming Steven D. Lavine of the CIA and will even post his picture.

I challenge moveon and all of the whackjobs in their freak show to come to Upland and demonstrate in front of my office. I dare them to contact the FBI and demand that I be brought before a grand jury. BRING IT ON, LOSERS!

Lavine has been at his post since 1988. He has been with the Rockefeller Foundation, was a professor at the University of Michigan, and serves on the Board of Directors of the Los Angeles Philharmonic Association. Who would suspect his connection with the CIA?

Perhaps most startling is that Lavine has co-edited, with Ivan Karp, the collections Exhibiting Cultures: The Poetics and Politics of Museum Display and Museums and Communities: The Politics of Public Culture.

There you go, moveon. There you go, Chuckie Schumer. There you go, Harry Reid. Come and get me!

doug doesn't have to show his credentials around here. Why are you so hostile to him?

I have not paid much attention to him before but went back to some of his posts. He is apparently hostile to many people here.

Not generally hostile. But sometimes Doug is excitable, as he was earlier today.

"St. Helena, CA, July 14, 2005 — Charles Henning, a noted international hospitality executive, has been appointed managing director of The Culinary Institute of America (CIA) at Greystone in Napa Valley, CA.

Mr. Henning has planned, developed, and managed world-class properties in Europe, Asia, Africa, and the United States. He returns to northern California’s wine country, having been responsible for major renovations and expansions of the Sonoma Mission Inn & Spa in Sonoma, CA in the late 1990s.

Just LOOK at where this guy's been recently: Europe, Asia, Africa, CALIFORNIA?!

Obviously a spook; I'll bet it's really the Sonoma Mission Inn & SPY...

BCrago, I too would be upset if DFU *actually* outed a CIA agent. If you read the link he posted, you will realize his thread was a satire, the guy is *NOT* CIA. Doug is a good guy, you can trust him much more than you can trust any Democratic Senator with national security matters. So, have a laugh and enjoy DFU's little dig at the barfstream media....

"CIA" is an abbreviation often appearing on web pages which describe some form of Escort activity. Now I wonder Doug what it means? Thats a bit of arcane hoo-haw for Move On Org! Maybe they might get a tip from that source , and it will likely be Bill CLinton's!!!!

Valerie Plame's super-secret undercover role with the CIA was apparently to play the role of the ditzy housewife of a US diplomat, gliding through party after party and plying foreign diplomats with alcohol to see what tidbits of information she could get from them that might interest the CIA.

I wonder what Steven D. Lavine does?

Mata Stevie's mission is to play PDQ Bach spoof Baroque music and break down the defenses of the enemy by making them giggle. That and funding antiAmerican stuff via the Rockefeller Foundation, no giggle there....

As you can see, he is not generally hostile. I left out most of his complaints about vanities. He is the self-appointed vanity policeman here. Does Joe Wilson or BCrago66 have more credibility?

Your original startment was not an inferential argument, but the assertion that:

"If you go down to political, it also shows Hitlery as the favorite to win the 2008 election, too."

That is flat out false (as Hillary is only listed as the favorite to win the Dem nomination) and you should admit it before you go on to make a second, inferential argument.

As to your inferential argument, it is faulty:

A will likely beat B
+
B will likely beat C
DOES NOT EQUAL
A will likely beat C

ERGO, so far you're 0 for 2.

The fact that a state judge found that Terri is in a permanent vegitative state doesn't mean she is in a permanent vegitative state. Human beings, including judges, are fallable. That's why we have federal habeas review with regard to death-penalty cases, and that's why we should have a similar federal review here. The stakes are high because life is important, anf the 14 Amendment protects life.

You would see that, Chris, if you were not so unbalanced and emotional on this issue. Maybe you should try to think about this issue, instead of merely expressing your feelings.
