It's nice that you got off and helped him out. i wondered if it was a good thing for me to get off and wipe them off. It seemed he'd get them back on as soon as I wiped them off. After the second time I thought I can't be doing this, he's going to have to get use to them. If they had bothered Rowdy as bad I might have continued to wipe them off, but Rowdy never even twitched because of them. That's why I finally quite wiping them off. Some things you just have to let them deal with,,,right??:)
