Well, I am very cheerful! Steve told me Saturday evening that he doubts he'll ever have to stay after work to work on the paper again. He said he thinks he's to the point that any tweaks will be done during work hours (which is ok with his employer, because they want that study!) So as far as I'm concerned, it's all over!
On the way to church yesterday, I said "It's a shame to take those three hours of thesis and not get anything out of them." Which led to a conversation about taking an engineering class instead. Which led to a conversation about seeing how close he is to getting an engineering bachelors degree.
~sigh~
On another note, he spoke with two people at church, one is in our homeschool group. He gave Steve two names to contact at Williams here in town. That's the company he wants to go to work for. Then, our Sunday school teacher asked him to email him his resume so he could give it to a guy at his job. He works for TD Williams...they make pigs. Pigs that route out oil pipelines, or something like that. Kinda like a roto-rooter type thing.
They make pigs.
Oooookay.
Ooh...I just read a book where they talked about pigs - they were thingies that could be put into a pipeline to clean or to separate substances (i.e. they could put through one type of oil, then a pig, then something else) and the most sophisticated have sensors to detect any damage to the inside of the pipes and stufflikethat. Pretty interesting.
But do they rent them?
