If you were getting out, at the moment the best bet looks like heading for Key West. However the NHC is fairly unsure about the forecast. But that radar pic does show her getting close to the 25th parallel.
Let me start making some phone calls here.
I just hate hurricane season.
Apparently the thread died of fright. It must not like hurricanes either.
Not quite. Just a quick note to let everyone know that I mailed 24 Hobbit Hole packages in the last two days. With multiple knives in some shipments, 36 knives of all sorts were mailed. And I still have a large number of knives to prep, and more requests to fill.
It would be nice to get some more Gerber LMFs, too.
God Bless you, winmag! Those soldiers are gonna be thrilled!
Remember my neighbor's daughter that I told you about a long time ago that got beat up on the bus? Well, she's a young lady now and now she's started jr. high.
I put a little picture frame and a jewelry box filled with encouraging scripture in it in her mailbox, along with a faux ruby. It's all reminding her how precious she is to Jesus, now that's she's becoming a young woman. I put a little label on it saying "To you...from someone who admires you." :-)
I told her mom about it and her mom had her go out to get the mail after she got home from school. I heard her bus drive up and I was watching her through the sheers. She walked out to the mailbox kinda slow and slumped over...I watched as she pulled out the package, all tied together with white gauzey netting. She just stood there looking at it for a second...then she grabbed the rest of the mail and just DASHED in the house! LOL!!
You're such a gem of a friend!! I'm sure you made that young lady's day, if not her whole week!
It was really pretty...a little bundle tied with a bow of white netting, you know? The frame and the jewelry box were covered in a rose print type paper and the frame had dried roses clustered at the bottom corner. It really was pretty, but I can't take the credit. A friend of mine made them for her high school girls bible study and she had an extra. I asked if i could have it for this young lady.
I think I am gonna keep doing this...maybe once a month or so, put something encouraging in her mailbox. These are important years for a young girl.
What? No, no real reason for posting that.
None at all...
Heh! What is it??? It's intriguing!
Ahh...To Kill a Mockingbird.
I don't believe I've ever actually seen it.
Hmph... pitiful for someone that was a drama major in college.
I hadn't seen it till last year sometime.
It's good! Still interesting after all these years.
*cough* read the book *cough*
LOL
I read it three times in high school, and saw the movie with Gregory Peck. Of course, all of this was required by the school. I don't know that I would have read it three times on my own ;-)
*sigh* Gregory Peck...
Oh, 2J, you HAVE to see that movie!! It is one of Gregory Peck's finest performances.
They most certainly are, and it will be great for her to have a 'Secret Admirer'.
The part of the movie that always chokes me up is when Atticus Finch is leaving the courtroom after the trial, and the black preacher, with whom Scout and Jem are sitting and watching from the gallery above with all the blacks in the courtroom, tells the children to stand because "your father is passing". He and the other blacks in town respect their father because he is fair with them.
Evenin' folks!
Long day and tomorrow is promising to be even longer. Instead of having our Friday payrolls reassigned to another region, they had us call them all to schedule them for tomorrow.
So, I have 25 payrolls tomorrow and somehow, I have to get home early enough to put up the shutters if need be.
I'd do it tonight, but I have no help. My mom's back is troubling her and my ex is working. ~sigh~
I wish we had those easy accordian style shutters. We've got the aluminum panels which are a royal PITA to put up.
You don't know how close I am to just sending everyone to the fiery place and taking off. But I need my job too much to risk ticking them off like that.
Besides, then someone else would get stuck with my work and that wouldn't be fair. Everyone's got family to get home to and I love the people I work with, even though the job is ridiculous.
