The Hobbit Hole XXIII - Let them go! Let them go!
Posted on 07/12/2005 8:11:36 PM PDT by HairOfTheDog
Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Let them go! Let them go!
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

I thought I was pretty scary during WeddingMoot when I used a lighter to cook s'mores. :-D

I once roasted Peeps over a decorative candle. You're not scary at all!
Ugh, another emergency. This one could make me stay late, the desk girls' computer needs to be totally scrubbed and it really ought to go back to them today.

I thought I was pretty scary during WeddingMoot when I used a lighter to cook s'mores. :-D It was mostly the fact that you were on the couch in the living room... But you still remind me of the smiling face on a box of Aunt Ruthy's Homemade S'More Cookies in this picture ;~D

So, does this mean I am going to be a tropical storm in 2010?

Not if I'm remembering your name correctly...

Today's "tale of user stupidity and multiculturalism".
Remember that I work in a computer science department, and that this is from a grad student.

What makes this funny isn't the weird formatting or poor phrasing, it's the fact that he was disabled for quote violations and so recieved and ignored at least 10 notices that he was over quota and would havew his account disabled.
Ok, and the email's funny too.

Someone should photoshop a cookie package for it, or a magazine ad. ;-)

I can picture her as a cardboard standee, in an end-aisle grocery store display. Then we could send her on a "Flat Ruthy" tour...

You know, calling a girl "flat" isn't exactly ~flattery~.
