The Hobbit Hole XXIII - Let them go! Let them go!
Posted on 07/12/2005 8:11:36 PM PDT by HairOfTheDog
Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Let them go! Let them go!
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

There are older and fouler things than Orcs in the deep places of Sarbanes-Oxley.
The lawmakers dug too deeply and too greedily...

It must be taken deep into Washington DC and cast back into the fiery chasm from whence it came. One of you must do this....

Well... hopefully the pilot knows the way, at least to the land of the Elf-People.
Gotta check out for now. Gotta go catch a plane.

Hi Ruthy!
Whew, just did a weight lift session and now I'm out of energy again. Wish I was able to do that before biking in the morning but I don't think that'd work.

Good job, chica! I admire you for sticking to it.
I've been neglecting my small exercise routine as of late. :-P
Now, I've caught a cold from the girls. Came home early since I was feeling like crud-on-a-stick.

Do did you tell her she'd have to have a couple more, or else adopt a few?I bit my tongue, and said something positive and affirming.
My job offers so many opportunities for mockery, sarcasm, and insults that I find myself slapping my hand over my mouth. There's just too much low-hanging fruit out there.

Well, I haven't been lifting lately. Gettin' sick of seeing no progress, so I'm hoping to add at least three lifts a week (my book is set up that way) on top of the biking, and maybe add some high-intensity cardio, the rec center at school apparently has free sessions of things like kickboxing.
I'm just sick and tired of feeling like I can't do anything. And the pants have got to go down a size or three.

You're preaching to the choir, gal. Still I feel like I've got some motivations now... maybe if I can get into a habit.

Yes indeed.... yes indeed. Like right now, sitting here fighting with myself over dinner. I'm gonna have an omelet, and I'd really like a bagel too. But bagels are Not On the Diet, so I'm not gonna have one.
Margaritas aren't either but I think I will have just one when I go out later.

Congrats to elf-boy! Y'all are gonna have SUCH fun, and you'll be surprised at how much easier it will be to teach bittygirl because she will have picked stuff up as you're teaching elf-boy.

Breads are my downfall. I love bread.
But bread loves me back and wants to stay with me forever. :-D

Mmm... yes, bagels worse than bread, but bread. And sweets. And rice - oh, man, is rice a killer. Love rice, plain, in things, next to things... hot, cold, white or wild.
